"Excellent childcare center. Meets federal standards for a Head Start classroom at the center, which provides a higher quality experience for all of the children at the center. Director is flexible and has always "found room" any time I have had a new foster child placed in my care. All of my children have adored every staff person, from the lead teachers to the part time staff. I've trusted the center with 10-12 of my foster babies, and every child has been cared for above and beyond. Communication to parents is good, questions are answered quickly, daily updates on naps, potty time, food, etc. Was working on accreditation with National Association for the Education of Young Children, which no other local center is meeting those standards either."

"The Center for Children and Families offers a welcoming, loving, and nurturing environment for all children. The lead teachers are always reliable and have years of hands-on experience with children. The staff have reasonable and consistent expectations of the children to allow them to thrive and have daily chances to succeed. Classroom lesson plans include hands-on activities and children are also given the ability to explore their world through free choice activities. Teachers utilize music, movement, crafts, and creative science experiments to keep children engaged in learning. Lead teachers also aid in the education of the part time staff, who are attending the university for educational degrees, by sharing personal experiences and giving advice. The staff has resources to help parents in the development of their child. Staff create a partnership with parents to help the development of their children. Parents get frequent updates/pictures about their child’s day throughout the day via the SmartCare app. Vermillion is lucky to have a daycare that cares so much about families, children, and their development. Words cannot express how hard the staff works to make the center the place that it is. The director offers open and honest communication with the parents. She works hard to have trainings readily available to staff to give them the skills they need to succeed. With the centers limited budget she goes above and beyond to improve the center in any way possible. The director can often be in the classrooms or kitchen giving support to the staff, but she is always available to parents to address any questions, comments, or concerns. She has made many improvements over the years which has to do with her hard-work and prior educational expereinces. The biggest nod to the how much the center cares about children is how they have dealt with the recent pandemic. The center strives to meet or exceed every CDC recommendation. Staff always wear masks and PPE when in close contact with children. The director keeps children and staff safe by closing classrooms with exposures and implementing many cleaning procedures. The director has increased staffing to allow more cleaning time. Lead teachers go above and beyond by sanitizing toys daily, socially distancing, and sterilizing all frequently touched surfaces."
