Silver Peak Trailhead 42 Forest Road, San Simon, AZ 85632

"This has to be one of the top 5 most beautiful hikes in AZ, in my opinion! Well groomed trail, definitely would rate it difficult but you are rewarded with awesome views right away, so even if you can't do the whole thing it's worth it. We had almost no shade (October, around noon when we started) so were glad we had sunscreen and hats. We got about 90 minutes in, approaching the "Fingers" and the trail became very narrow with steep drop offs next to the trail. I stupidly wore tennis shoes and not hiking shoes, so I worried about slipping on the way back down. So, we decided to turn back at that point. Next time I'll be more prepared. We had a hard time finding the trailhead. There appears to be several spots where it intersects with other trails and you can pick it up, but we finally found a very tiny sign for it right next to the Cave Creek Nature Trail."

"This trailhead takes you 4.5 miles to silver peak. This is a challenging hike but the majority of the hike up will be in the shade so be sure to save your water for the hike out when you'll be in the direct sun for the last 1.5 miles"
