"Being a math teacher I definitely had to get a pie on pi Day. It used to be you'd get a free pie at least with an entree. But not this year. Our server said the pie would be 50% off but that was not reflected in my bill. Village inn was extremely busy The staff extremely courteous and helpful and doing the best they could. Pies were flying off the shelves, whole pies as well as slices on this pi day. I was with a large group and our service was excellent. Everyone got something different and the entrees were piled high with wonderful looking meals. I got to taste the fish and chips. The fish was crispy outside but the fish itself was a little mushy but tasted good. My lemon cream pie was bursting with lemon zestiness."

"My husband and I have not been to a VI in years. We were pleasantly surprised with our visit today to the San Mateo location for breakfast (3/7/24). We usually go to Dennys. The restaurant was clean, had a good atmosphere, had good tasting food, excellent service (Jose), and plenty of servers. We could tell that there were "regulars" there. Location was easy to get to and parking was easy. We definitely will be returning."

"Food is very nasty looking….I complained about the food. Gravy was lumpy…hardly any hash browns. Manager came and argued with me about what the quality of food is supposed to be. I simply told her what was wrong with the food and I wanted to be left alone. She then told me that is fine but I need to leave. Sad that after going here 25 years that a manager that has no idea what she is doing would loose a customer this easily….."

"01/07/24- Village Inn never disappoints. Our breakfast was terrific, they have a great deal where you pick 4 breakfast items for $12.50! Super fresh and tasty pies with great customer service. Outstanding Restaurant!"
