"Stopped by after a trip up to the Sandia Mountains. Great atmosphere, seating, service, and food. Learned that everything is made in-house, which was a plus to the quality. Will definitely go back after a mountain run."
"We were greeted and seated right away. Order was taken after drinks were delivered. Food (Huevos Rancheros x 2) came out quickly, was hot and delicious! Hubby said the best he has ever had!"
"Food - We started with the Green Chilli Stew ($6.00) - and ate it so fast we forgot to take a photo! It was very tasty, the pork was tender, there was nice chunks of potatoes, celery and carrots. They also serve it with a small fluffy (fresh made) tortilla (Order the Bowl, You'll want more). I ordered the French Dip ($15.00), the bread was nice and airy, the meat was grilled to perfection and the cheese was gooey. Fries were house cut and really good and crispy. He ordered the Bird House Burrito ($16.00) - 1 large flour tortilla filled with refried beans, ground beef, topped with ribbon fry, smothered in your choice of red or green chile. Garnished with pico de Gallo and sour cream. This dish was also really good and very filling. Sodas were $2.00 and refills included. Service - Perfection! Greeted as soon as we stepped in the door, and shown to a table. Asked for our drink order, came back with drinks and asked about starters, and then came back to take our order. Offered suggestions and kept our drinks refilled. Fast and friendly. Atmosphere - There is a small town, family owned vibe going on here. It is more than just a cafe or a restaurant, it is a place you want to keep coming back to. It is also one of the few restaurants in the area that is open at 8am."
"Mya was an excellent server. It was pretty cold in there with the ceiling fans on. Eggs got cold quickly. Plates need to be heated to maintain temp of food. Maple sausage excellent. Homefries tasty but hard to eat when they are so tiny. Would prefer larger potatoes done on grill. I would go back again. It was worth it. Coffee :( Great location and lots of parking."
"We were traveling through on the way back to TN and wanted some green chile stew. Everything we ordered was delicious. We loved it so much we went back for breakfast the next day before continuing home. Green chile stew, cheese curds—best I’ve had with a tempura-like breading, burrito with carne adobada, enchiladas, ribeye, the best french fries ever, then the next day we had a breakfast burrito, breakfast enchiladas, breakfast ribeye, and oh my goodness the huge fluffy pancakes! There was nothing we tried that wasn’t absolutely delicious. This is a somewhat hidden gem that’s worth a short detour off I-40 if you’re passing through and want to avoid Albuquerque traffic. If I’m ever passing through again, I’ll definitely stop here. One caveat… it’s not fast food. Dinner service was slower than large chains with lots of employees. The owner was the only one working a the time. But it was a Thursday at an off peak time and we didn’t mind at all. We weren’t in a hurry. The service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Breakfast Friday morning was faster than dinner the previous day. If you want to taste some delicious New Mexican food but also need some standard options like spaghetti, chicken nuggets, or burgers, I highly recommend this place. I only wish it were closer to Tennessee. :/ PS. If you’re towing a camper or driving an RV, there’s a small space at the end of the parking lot with room to park an RV (unless it’s a very large one). BUT when we went it was full, so we parked our truck and travel trailer across the road in the large church parking lot. The 4 lane + turning lane highway was not very busy, so it was easy to walk across. It worked out perfectly for us."
