"The only reason I'm giving three stars is because it's truthfully a good place to live. However, my car was broken into in the line of sight of a security camera, but I was informed they don't work. Be warned. Also, with the renewal contract negotiations and the process of leaving the unit, the representatives only worry about the new tenants moving in. Specifically, the tenant will be on the hook for a full electricity bill and can't shut it off if they move out early and the lease is paid in full."

"Judy and I have been long-term residents of Carriage Green Estates (20+ years). We appreciate the quality of life CGE provides: spacious apartment, two pools, exercise equipment, and steam room, plus a party room. Other facilities do not offer this much. In addition, we appreciate the security that CGE proves: locked doors, safe parking, clean streets and side walks. Of course, the individuals such as the office staff, cleaning folks, and maintenance make for a worry-free environment. As a result we can have more time for our well-earned retirement. Finally, we must recognize Lynn, GCE Office Manager. We can always count on her "taking care of business" that supports our needs as well as her corporate responsibilites."

"Lights mounted under the roof eves light up the sides of the building all night. You will need blackout shades to sleep and I have not seen anyone but smokers sit on their balcony at night because of the prison yard experience. Extremely excessive watering of the lawn. So much so that water runs down the street and mushrooms grow on the lawns. Residents started having to pay water bill this year and it is not meter billed, but a portion of the whole."

"I never had to submit a work order, because all the appliances never broke in my apartment. No, they are not the newest, but everything was functional. I liked the amenities, even if I did not use them often. The dryer in the communal laundry room on every single floor never really works, so be sure you have enough money to run it twice. They are cheaper than any of the other ones in town. Don't let the promises of new carpet, an updated pool, or anything else lure you in, they said that at the time of me signing my lease, and it never got any closer to being done during my time there. What you see is what you get, and even though it is quite expensive for Rapid City, it's a very secure, quiet location with mostly elderly residents. The only complaint I would have is whoever is responsible for shoveling and clearing the ice is not very prompt, so just expect a couple of slushy walks when it starts to snow every time. For people saying that the front office is very nosey, there is a check deposit slot outside the office of the main building that you can deposit your check in so you never have to talk to them if you want."

"I didn't live here but I worked here. The place is nice it's dated and way to expensive but it is nice and quiet because most the tenants are old, but the property manager is something else her name is Lenn she's nosy, gossipy, lies, and makes up her own rules. Seriously all the employees and most of the tenants can't stand her, I've been asked by New tenants on how they can stay off her "radar" and have been told by older tenants that "she seems like she is hard to work for" (boy is she) they have also said they hate going to or calling the office because of her and will avoid it if she is on duty. And if you are looking here for a job I recommend you turn and run fast! She will make it sound good 8-5 M-F paid holidays off can't beat that right? Well what she doesn't tell you is that you will be sent over to another property called bridge wood estates because they are always behind evidently the staff can't handle their own jobs, she also won't tell you that this happens every single month!! As for paid holidays off or even your scheduled days off do not make any plans for those because she will ask you to work them and she gets butt hurt if your not a loser like her and you actually have a life and plans. Also nothing you will ever do will be good enough I don't care how long you spent doing it or how many times you've had to redo it she is never satisfied and something is always wrong and she will complain about it and make you waste your time on it. She treats her employees like idiots that don't know what their job is or how to do it. So until she is gone I definitely don't recommend working here, i e never been more miserable in my life than I was at this job and she was 100% to blame."
