"Small room, no view. SHEER curtain on window Hometown gathering of siblings. A few glitches , i..e. lock issues, refrigerator needed defrosting, a/c heating unit was temperamental, bare walls in room, no storage for clothes except tiny closet, few hangers."
"Our initial thoughts upon booking were more in the realm of…”Well this will be a cool adventure to stay in a historic building! How awesome is it they accept pets?! This is right by the boutiques we wanted to go to!” Unfortunately, the management is entirely inadequate. Upon entry, all of the historic features we were previously in awe of were overshadowed by the lack of cleanliness and hodgepodge DIY work. I definitely didn’t trust that bedding was washed or dishes were actually clean, given you could see thick layers of dust on even the most easily noticed areas. The biggest misstep in management though BY FAR was the fact that we were not informed Rib Fest was the very weekend we were to stay. They knew we had four children ages 5, 3, 2, and 2 months and yet they never told us there’d be a concert going on pretty much right outside our building with single paned windows and almost non existent glazing. The walls were literally shaking! Until 12AM! So unbelievably unacceptable! When management was given the critiques they gave poor excuses, showed no remorse nor gave any inkling they’d be making any changes in the future. With that being said, I would warn you not to stay."
"Not your typical hotel every room is decorated different along with a full operating kitchen. Family owned. Curt the owner was amazing to say the least. He even offered to pick us up if we choose to go kayaking down the river. We will be back thank you for everything!"
"I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It was a beautiful historic building with a superb atmosphere. My suite was located on the top floor with a full kitchen, office area, large living room, spacious bedroom, large bathroom with a whirlpool bath, and finally a nice outdoor deck that overlooked the local bridge and downtown area. I honestly have no complaints about my stay beyond the fact that I really wished I could've gotten a chance to pet the beautiful tabby cat that roamed the guest services office buy alas it was a rescue and a bit timid. My stay was peaceful and uninterrupted, staff was available when needed, my room was clean, climate control was more than adequate and keep in mind my room was on the top floor of the building and the weather was very hot outside, the kitchen was well stocked, my bed was comfortable, Wi-Fi was able to handle my needs, and overall for a historic building the building itself was very modern but without losing that historic feel that we desired. Can't say enough good things about this place, I'm only leaving now to go spend some time with family before moving but I absolutely will be returning later this week to book the same suite from now until my moving date which is approximately a month, need I say more? Fully recommend anyone having to stay in this area to book with this hotel as it was an unexpected pleasure for such a remote city, just don't book my suite ;)"
"So while its pretty, at my brothers wedding the food was late, and so we started speeches early. Then they came to the head table DURING speeches to ask what kind of dressing we wanted and brought the food out despite that we hadnt started touching salads yet as the speeches were still going. By the time we could get to it the food was cold. They also forgot the brides food at first and sauce on half our dishes."
