Homeward Bound Pet Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming homeless pets in the Yankton, South Dakota area. Our mission is to provide a second chance for animals in need by finding loving forever homes for them. We are located at 111 West 3rd Street and welcome visitors who are interested in adopting a furry friend or supporting our cause through donations or volunteering. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that every animal in our care receives the love and attention they deserve. "This place is disgusting. My friend recused a cat from this place & it died the very next day. I saw animals stacked on top of each other, no bedding, empty water &food bowls. I turned them into the ASPCA."
"This is the worst animal neglected “rescue” I’ve ever witnessed I wanted to cry. 7-10 Guinea pigs stacked on each other in a 10 gallon tank!? Same with many other animals. Birds in cages that haven’t been cleaned, bunnies in the smallest cages where they can hardly move. Why have a rescue when u can’t provide a proper & healthy environment for them. Very disgusting and I’m surprised the place hasn’t been shut down."
