"BEST breakfast in Rapid City! The breakfast is great, the atmosphere is upscale and our waitress was sweet. Don't know where this place was hiding, but I'm happy I found it. Tell Trish I sent you."
"We ate the ribeye and walleye fish and chips. Both were good. Jace was our waiter. He was excellent, super knowledgeable and attentive. I'm sure that we will come back. I think we want to come to try the brunch."
"I really wanted to like this place better. And it wasn't bad! But in the end, it was very ho-hum. We first tried it for a weeknight dinner. The food off the menu was mostly pretty good, with a few small misses - like the avocados in my dish that were so unripe they were crunchy. But overall pretty good, and the staff at the bar were amazing. We followed up with the Sunday brunch, which was disappointing. The options were really basic, and some of the food had obviously been out for way too long. The pizza was so desiccated and fused to the pans that I physically couldn't pry up a slice. There were bright spots: the bacon was really solid, and the tortilla soup - which seems to be the same that's served at Shooters up the street - is weirdly compelling. (There's nothing even vaguely traditionally Mexican about it, but it's good!) But on average, it was a little depressing. The ambiance isn't unpleasant, but it is a little strange. It looks like they've borrowed from Deadwood casinos, with lots of shiny metallic accents, textiles, and big TV screens flashing promos toward every table. It's a big place, and it feels big - and empty, at least when we were there. The place has potential, and I'm definitely willing to give the regular menu another try. But I probably won't be in a big hurry to come again."
"Ok, another new upper class dining experience opens up in Rapid City! First impressions when you walk in are great. It has this upper New York vibe to the place with the Yellow (Fake) Tree in the entry way lit up and the dim lighting that accentuates the black rustic modern feel of the place is all very nicely done. The seating at the bar or at the tables are spaced precisely enough that even if you are a bigger than average person you should be comfortable as well. These are all really good things this place has going for it. The service was also very friendly and courteous to us! Answered all of our questions nicely with no attitude whatsoever:) Now onto the food:) We both had a Steak, side salad, that also comes with seasoned vegetables and a dinner roll. The steak was cooked to our specifications. Mine was medium and hers was medium rare. The steak quality is average and the seasoning on it was quite adequate. The side salad was ok, the portion of it was a little smaller than I would like but this is a minor gripe. Now onto the seasoned vegetables! If you only have one vegetable in the whole bowl don't call it vegetables. It is not several different vegetables, instead you get heavily peppered and salted bowl of broccoli. Just broccoli and nothing else. It was almost inedible as you get near the bottom of the bowl because of how heavily peppered it was! The dinner roll came out of a prepacked deal and kind of cheapens the meal for me. When you pay $28 for steak you need to be on point with the sides of the meal to help accentuate the steak! Sadly, they don't. Ordered dessert cause why not. Carrot cake for me and she got turtle cheesecake. The slices are the smallest I have ever seen for the price they want! $9 for a half a slice of carrot cake. My hand is next to the pic of the cake look at how tiny it is, not worth $9 to me when it is a store-bought cake and not homemade at all. For the two of us it was about $80 with taxes. They have something going with the atmosphere and nice touches with the restroom, tv's over the bar, 80's music are all really great. They accel at setting the mood, to get you ready for a delicious meal and sadly enough the meal doesn't come through completely to make it a whole experience to repeat. It is good to try it to say you did and to say Ya I have been there, but for a repeat anytime sooner than 6 months would be a tough bargain. Especially for the price point. This is still a good place to go to, don't get me wrong it is on point with places like Perkins, and Olive Garden when it comes to the quality of food, the atmosphere is definitely higher class than those places. So overall good, but not great. Can do a lot better, but not a bad start for a brand-new place at all!"
