"My daughter was there for 2 months and then spent 6 weeks in an iop program 5 days a week in our home state. She now sees her psychiatrist every few months online and a therapist every other week. We just started an na meeting on the week that she doesn't see the therapist. She has now been sober for the 5 months now since her release. We test every week just to show that we are holding her accountable and building back trust. I am beyond grateful for Sandstone. I fully believe that my daughter would be dead by now without it."

"I am sure no parent starts out imagining they'll one day be looking for this type of care for their child. We found Sandstone after many phone calls trying to navigate the system and figure out exactly where and how to get help. They happened to have a bed open and accepted our insurance - which were also obstacles. I was scared, confused, and had no idea if we were making the right choice by sending him to in-patient care. My son, however, had come to a place where he knew he needed help. I am grateful for that. The care he received at Sandstone provided a safe respite from the outside world so that he could begin to heal and recover. He was surrounded by what he has described as the most caring and understanding techs, therapists, and staff. I will never forget our drive home and how highly he spoke of the whole program but especially the people. To say he had a new lease on life was an understatement. He was treated with respect and compassion and was empowered to take ownership and responsibility. From what I have gathered, the staff was also responsible for creating an environment conducive to healthy peer relationships, some of which continue to be a support today. Our son learned coping skills for dealing with anxiety, stress, disappointment in himself and others, for dealing with the recovery process and the changes that his body and brain would go through in the coming months. He was exposed to several different therapy/recovery models and encouraged to find what worked well for him. In addition to the care he received, my partner and I also found support and care in the weekly parent sessions with Walter. We were able to process our own feelings and learn about how to best support our son. We found comfort in interacting with the other parents on the same journey. We also had weekly family therapy sessions with Pamela. I cannot say enough good things about Pamela and her expertise, strengths, and skills as a therapist. She was able to quickly and expertly help us pinpoint some key family dynamics that were not serving us well. Between sessions, she worked with our son and answered countless emails from us providing insight and encouraging us to just keep going through this difficult time. Together we learned skills that would help us begin to heal and change, but would also prepare us for our son to come back home. Our son continued with Sandstone's outpatient care for several months after leaving Cascade. He was met with the same supportive and caring staff there and continues to integrate all he's learned about himself and addiction. We also continue on our journey as parents with the benefit of increasing perspective and stability between now and when it felt like our whole world was crashing down. It is a difficult, long, and fragile journey, but we continue to move forward. The support from Sandstone in those early days has set the foundations for us to persevere through all of the ups and downs to date. Our son continues to rebuild his life and we are proud of him. We continue to seek out resources and support appropriate for where we are now as a family and as individuals. I am so grateful that we found Sandstone when we did."
