"I worked at CBLG for a short amount of time (approximately 4-5 months) near the end of 2022. During my time there, the work was equal parts demanding and rewarding. The staff culture is supportive, understanding, and knowledgeable. It was immediately clear that staff at every level cared deeply for their clients and their coworkers alike. The company paid for the initial training which consisted of watching videos, being paired with an assigned “trainer”, and attending meetings to discuss the basics/learn HR policies with other new staff. After being assigned several clients, I had frequent observations with the BCBA’s in charge of the cases, and felt very comfortable asking questions, seeking guidance, or asking for help/support regarding a case, client or procedure. During my time there, the pay was always on-time, accurate, and the policies surrounding it were transparent. I decided to seek employment elsewhere solely because I wanted to teach subject-matter content (math) instead of working in Behavior Analysis. I use skills I learned at CBLG in my classroom daily (behavior specific praise for the win!) The work is very hard. The days are long, and stress levels can be high. However, getting to help my clients achieve their goals, and being able to celebrate their successes with them was a daily (sometimes hourly) occurrence that seemed to make the bad days blur into the background."
"lol. Unfortunately, this company’s 5 point rating on Google is NOT representative of their services. They have so many people who get fired or slighted and they feel the need to come on here and give 1-star-reviews. It’s not fair, so I’m here to set the record straight: CBLG should be 5-stars. The CEO and Director of Operations are 2 of the kindest, most compassionate, yet shrewd and strategic employers you will EVER have. They are very good at their jobs, both as management and as BCBAs. All of management at BLG are simply amazing, caring individuals. But they are also very professional! And the services they provide? You’re kidding me! Please look at the facts: BLG has THREE!!! center based ABA practices. Three! And one group home, with MORE on the way!!! And you’re telling me that this company’s services are mediocre? Unethical? Subpar? lol. Or is unprofessional to staff? Yeah, sure. Because that’s how you keep 100s of staff employed to keep THREE centers and 1+ group homes running at the same time. By being so unethical, unprofessional, and wrong. Or… Liz, Sarah and Co. could be pulling this off by, idk, having competent staff who are great at their job and happy enough with management and the conditions to keep working there to sustain THAT LEVEL of services and staff. But oh wait, BLG only has a rating of 3.6 from grumbled employees and others who’ve been so wronged. Surely running this insane amount of people and services is… a coincidence? A fluke? And they deserve this rating? lol. Look at the facts, people! I could go on and on. I’ve worked at BLG for a long time and I’ve never seen them do someone dirty. If someone got done in, they deserved it dude, especially from women who give a million and 1 chances to you. All BCBAs here are brilliant and care so much, and the employees are truly passionate about helping these kids and teenagers and young adults that the world has turned a blind eye to. CBLG is an amazing place with wonderful services. They deserve all the praise in the world."
"By no means was it easy work, but the entire field of mental health reflects the same or harder conditions. CBLG provided me with the hours and training I needed for my employment period. While the days can be difficult you have a team behind you or at least I felt I did. You still work on establishing relationships with the clients and having their care center stage. The short time I was employed before switching states I felt very respected and was but a test away from being certified RB. CBLG I feel did very well for a difficult field, hours were fair including riding the van, and this still during covid times."
"We have been with this company for several years. We started with one of our kids in early 2020, then started our other two kids a few months later at the recommendation of our BCBA at the time, Kathy Cahill. In our first year and a half with the company, everything was working as well as it could, given our circumstances. The company was very forthcoming with changes in my children's treatment plans and we felt like we were finally on track to getting control of our kids behaviors. About a year and a half in, we were notified by our BCBA that she would be getting a promotion, but to our surprise, one of our kids previous behavior therapists, Chasity Lawrence, was also getting a promotion and would be taking over our case as BCBA with Kathy as consult. This is where things began to fall apart. We had trouble getting providers that would either be consistent with showing up, or consistent with doing their job properly. The next year and a half was a hellscape of shuffling behavior therapists and lack of progress. As an example, throughout a 6 month period, my three-year-old was prescribed 40 hours of ABA therapy a week through their company and they struggled to meet 15 citing staff shortages. We have met with executive management who have explained that since he is prescribed 40 hours a week and we can't meet that, he needs to be discharged from their company and referred out, despite having a prior conversation with our previous BCBA, Chasity, where we were all in agreement that he didn't need that many hours and would likely do well tapering back to 20-25 hours a week. Your company values are dependable, experienced, and caring, but you staffed my home with inexperienced 18-year-olds for two years citing staff shortages, then when we didn't have time to deal with the call-outs anymore you showed a lack of dependability by discharging my son. This company will prescribe your children so many hours they can't fill them, then when you ask them to prescribe less, they will discharge you. It is likely a financial problem within the company. Stay far away."
"IF YOU ARE WANTING TO WORK HERE PLEASE READ: (I know it’s a little lengthy but trust me, it’s worth it). Let me clear some things up. Liz Ostendorf, the CEO, is one of the kind-hearted, nicest people I have ever met in my life. She owns 4 centers. 4!!! You think someone that successful doesn’t know what she’s doing? You think she retains enough staff to supply 4 centers because she’s unfair? Corrupt? I don’t think so. In fact, she’s just the opposite. The BCBAs at CBLG are ROCKSTARS. They are experts in the field. Yeah, it’s a hard job. ABA is hard wherever you go. But the rewards you get from helping your clients are immeasurable. The progress these kids make at CBLG is insane. That’s because Liz and company are the bomb! And you get to be a part of making kids’ and teenagers’ lives better in numerous, great ways. Management cares about you if you talk to them. Trust me! They listen and they work with you more than any other company you’ll find. Seriously. If you come into work and yell and harass staff, you’ll get fired. If you show you can’t be trusted with clients, it won’t stand and you’ll get fired. Quality care for both clients and employees are expected and executed here. ps. Anyone being racist is ridiculous. I’m a black man and I’ve been treated with nothing but equality. If you want to work for an ABA company that cherishes their employees and their clients, CBLG is the place for you. If you don’t believe me, just see for yourself."
