"Pat Velarde is a crook. I was referred to this practice for grief/loss and suicidal ideation. I got along well with my therapist and was making progress after what seemed like a long time coming. Pat and his team decided that I was not following their advice to better my mental health in the way they expected. To make matters worse, Pat made the decision to drop me from their practice, abandoning me before they knew I had someplace else to go and that I was safe from harming myself. His excuse was there is nothing we can do for you and we aren't licensed to give you the services you need. So my question to Pat is...why did you take me on as a client if it was unethical to give me services because you specialize in drug abuse?? When I confronted him about this, he hurried me out of his office, stating that he had a client waiting for him...but there was no one else in the waiting room. Due to my needs being out of their scope of care, it truly feels as if Pat was worried about his license being revoked, as they believed I was actually going to go through with ending my life, and that would be a liability for him. Pat went as far as to tell my mom that I was going to kill myself and proceeded to tell her about his experience with a relative who committed suicide. No compassion whatsoever."
"When I first came here I didn't know what to expect. But they helped me out in more ways then they know. Giving me coping skills, positive reassurance, and HOPE. Honestly can say they help me out of a dark place. Yes it wasn't easy but it was all self work I needed, nobody else could of done it for me. Thank you Pat & Tony. I appreciate the 2nd chance at life. Keep planting them seeds."
"I believe the Outpatient Substance Use Disorder counseling services are top notch. I know the consistency and quality of care has improved greatly over the past year. Overcomers has faced the same challenges as all agencies as the agencies were returning to face-to-face delivery of services as we transitioned from COVID-19 being a pandemic to being classified as an Endemic allowing groups to meet in person. Overcomers SA Group and Individual Therapy services have increased in quality, flexibility, and customer support under the direction of Clinical Services Supervisor Tamara Pashlikai. They are my number one recommendation for SA Outpatient services in the San Juan Basin...."
