The pharmacist and I had no idea why she prescribed what she did, and when I called, there was no return except to look it up myself. "I saw this provider in 2018. They recommended an IUD for some of my troubles and so I thought sure, why not? They explained to me it was basically like inserting a tampon and that I would be fine to do it over my lunch break while I was at work. I was completely unprepared for what was actually going to happen…I was not told that it would be an excruciating procedure. I was crying afterwards and this provider made me feel dramatic and like I had an unusual reaction. I believed them…I trusted this provider…I got it taken out in less than a year and never went back to this provider…fast forward to 2022 and I JUST FOUND OUT that many many women are in excruciating pain and that this was not an unusual reaction and I was not being dramatic. I feel like Sarah Whitehead violated my trust by not thoroughly explaining the procedure and the pain involved and then GASLIGHTED me into believing I was the problem. I feel so incredibly sorry for every woman who possibly had this experience. It’s completely unacceptable."
