"Really hard to get an appointment that works with our family schedule, have had paperwork lost several times, office is randomly closed with no reason or warning. There are really limited consistent pediatric options in this area I've noticed"
"My experience with the doctors and some of the nurses were great. However, it is the receptionist or front desk personnel who have a bad attitude and need more training to have better customer service. Since moving away from Durango, I have told them repeatedly that I will no longer be taking my daughter their for services but they continued to call me asking to schedule an appointment. IN FACT, not too long after moving I tried to request for my daughter's medical documents to be sent to our current medical center. I don't know if there is something wrong with their system or if they aren't checking their emails... but they never sent the documents after sending the release form after two separate attempts and to two different emails. When I tried to tell the lady about having an electronic "paper trail" (& in fact included the correct information on it) and my two separate attempts, she immediately cut me off and told me just to give her the contact information for the current medical clinic. I don't know what their issue may be but this inconsistency is getting really annoying when it should have been addressed the first time. They need to learn how to accept feedback and constructive criticism to ensure that children are getting the proper care and parents do not have to run around in circles just to get their medical documents released. As a parent, I am extremely frustrated at this point because I need those documents. I guess third times the charm, I hope."
"We've had multiple issues. They didn't update my son's vaccine records and tried to administer 4 vaccines that were unnecessary (and wouldn't have been covered by insurance), despite having his up-to-date vaccine records, they never entered them into the state system. Additionally, we mentioned a concern at his well-child visit and they charged a second visit without telling us. When else are you supposed to raise a concern? But expect to be charged as an office visit if you raise any concern. When I brought it up to management, they were rude and combative. Our insurance company agreed that they CAN do this, but that most practices don't because it discourages parents bringing up concerns during a covered visit, therefore preventing adequate care to the patient. This is my first time EVER that we were charged and we've been taking our kids to pediatricians for the last 12 years. Finally, they ordered a lab test and we're still waiting for the results 2 weeks later, despite the results being available in his records at labcorp for over 1.5 weeks. I called a week ago and apparently, they never got the results. Instead of alerting us to the issue that LabCorp wasn't sending them, they just waited (and likely would have waited until we badgered them enough or provided the results ourselves to the practice, which is what we ultimately ended up doing). The practice is poorly managed, they charge for unnecessary things and are very bad at communicating or being transparent with parents. If you have another option, choose a different practice."
"The good: the office is pleasant, front desk staff friendly. The mediocre: visits usually started on time, but we’d be there an hour and only 10 minutes out of that was actually being seen by the nurse and doctor. The bad: The chart was never reviewed prior to the visit, so I had to answer the exact same questions about my child’s traumatic birth repeatedly at every single visit. Our main reason for keeping up on well child visits was to monitor development, but the age of our child was not even noted at visits, and I was informed that the next visit for my 10 month old would be “at 4 months, so two months from now.” That’s when I knew it was time to move on! Despite their website saying they respect the parent’s choice on vaccines, Dr. Z. stated to me that he “specializes in convincing ‘hesitant moms’” to vaccinate though wasn’t aware of the research studies I cited as informing my decisions. I did not feel that my choice was respected as well-informed and researched, but rather belittled as coming from just an “emotional mom” state. And Dr. Z. pushes his very unrealistic opinion on sleep training at every visit which gets excessively monotonous if you are a parent interested in responding to and supporting your child’s sleep needs rather than walking out and closing the door - when they’re a newborn just home from the NICU no less! Never mind the studies on SIDS risks."
"The doctors are great! We were very disappointed when we received a bill in the mail for a check-up for 1 of our 2 kids. Our health insurance always paid full for any check-ups. They both had the same exams and tests done. When the doctor asked me if they was anything that I should mention I did mention a few things that I thought they should know since that was our first time there. I called about 8 times and I even stopped by to the clinic to ask why I was been charged $116 for 1 of my kids if it was just a check-up. It took 2 months for the accountant to return my calls and tell me that I mentioned something in the check-up about my daughter having some skin bumps now and then. The doctor did not do any tests or exams, did not come up with a treatment but I did get charge for that. Waiting 2 months for a return call because the accountant doesn't work from the clinic and been charged $116 for something that I mentioned during a check-up is definitely not ok with me."
