State Farm: Jennifer Paris

"I've been a State Farm client for over 30 years and a client of this office for over 10 years. Until now, I have been extremely satisfied with my choice, but I can no longer recommend this office (or State Farm in general). The change - State Farm has contracted out with a 3rd party for their roadside assistance. This third party relies exclusively on a cell phone app without any way to talk to a 'real person'. When in a roadside assistance situation, this is very disconcerting and stressful. This last weekend was the second time I had to use the roadside assistance and found that it was impossible to get the information I needed. At this point, I will be investigating other options for insurance - given that I've heard the same complaints from others, I'm sure I can find another insurance company that has 'real' people responding to these sorts of situations. By the way, when I spoke directly with the office, their response was that this was just the way things are and there is nothing they can do about it. UPDATE (after the "Response from the owner"): The issue is simply that there is no way to talk to a real person. And the comment regarding "In the past, the only option..." is a lie - it used to be that clients could call a number on their insurance card, speak with a 'real' person, and get the tow coordinated (I know because, as I've said, I've used this in the past). It is a change that State Farm is now outsourcing this service. Furthermore, the idea that the customer can get reimbursed comes with a list of caveats - specifically that they will only reimburse up to a certain amount, so be careful not to do anything that is 'too expensive' or you're out of luck for full reimbursement. And one more correction - the tow service itself did a great job and I have no complaints on that side of things. It was the State Farm roadside assistance that was horrible."
