"Don't come here looking to feel welcomed as their website states. Unless you're white. I was there today. Bought a quad shot latte, found a seat to do some work on my laptop while I waited to pick up my dog from the vet in surgery. A couple hours later an employee walks up and proceeds to tell me that I need to leave because I've been there too long. Maybe I was being inconsiderate of limited space? It was on a Tuesday and the town is pretty small, there was plenty of space/accommodations - that can't be it. Then I thought, was I just a victim of racial discrimination? I spent all day rethinking it trying to talk myself out of it since I never really experienced discrimination before, maybe I was being too sensitive? But then I thought back. There were several college aged kids sitting near the window on their laptops who were there longer than me because they were already there when I first got there. All people who were not of color. They never got asked to leave. I'm extremely shocked that this racist behavior still exists in the world. Call me naive . If someone can give me directions to the colored people coffee shop in Moab, l'd greatly appreciate it? You will get all my business since I'm clearly not welcomed here. This consumer/business interaction was one of the worst I have ever experienced. Being asked to leave was one of the most humiliating and degrading experiences in my life. And while I'm here giving feedback, your coffee is mediocre at best. --- Helping me? If you are referring to the sweet girl (seemed like a new employee) who took my order? She was treated just as bad! When she started verbally listing out milk options for me, that same employee/owner (you?) rudely interrupted her and stated "It's on the wall!" with an eye roll. And your statement is simply not true, as stated on my original comment, those kids were there for an unknown amount of time before I even arrived. You have the right to run your business the way you want, if you don't want people hanging out for more than 2 hours that is fine and it's your sole discretion as a business owner. Based on what I experienced myself and my observation on other similarly situated customers, your statement is simply pretext."
"They have a delicious chai latte! Also have some good foods options, and a couple of gluten free options like donuts and brownies. They’re open later than a lot of the other coffee shops, and are a great spot for a quick snack or a drink in the afternoon. I went back a second day because their chai was so good."
"I never tip here because the kids working the counter are so rude. My parents are friends with the roaster they live in Castle Valley and the coffee is good. But it’s a turn and burn spot they will get more victims I will never tip such rudeness. Their attitude is “sorry I have to deal with tourons,.” First off that’s not a way to treat fellow humans and in 78’ at age 5, I sat in the parking lot of the old Moab grocery store while my parents got supplies for backpacking thinking this a tumbleweed town. Yeah you’re cool but your service sucks and every customer has an individual connection to Moab, millennial. By the way I hope you’re never a tourist anywhere because if they treat visitors like you do it will be like a visit to hell."
