Reviews of Willow Creek Wine & Spirits
"The alcohol selection is amazing and the sales rep guy is wonderful. The cashier was a young lady she refused to serve me because I had an California ID and I freshly turned 21. I was ok with it but my mom was purchasing alcohol for herself and she was going to refuse her service assuming she was buying it for me. She didn’t check my mothers ID cause she “looked old” words from the cashier. Made my mother very upset about how the lady was treating us, we honestly felt like she profiled us as we are two African American females and we weren’t dressed the best considering it’s a chill Friday night. As we were leaving the cashier proceeded to yell at me because I grabbed the bag even though I am 21 and I was just going to hold it for my mother. The store seems amazing the cashier was just very rude and profiled me and my mother."
"Happened to be getting wings next door. Thought I might visit with the thought of seeing what possible whiskey or cider they may have I am unfamiliar about. Took a pic of a select few I haven't seen. Was asked what I needed to take pics of told I'm not welcome to take pics in their store. What would be any reason someone would be concerned about that? Seems very concerning as to the apprehension someone may have in a normal retail environment. I obviously will not be returning despite me finding a few items I was interested in that I had not seen in other establishments."
"Not sure where all the great reviews are coming from on this place. Especially if you are someone looking for whiskey. If you are looking for anything allocated, don’t go here. Even some of there easy to come by stuff is marked up outrageously… they usually have something but be ready to pay exorbitant markups. We are talking like 300% to 600%+ on allocated stuff. Then they tell you to your face “It’s a great price” Really owners? You think we are stupid? Your greed is a real show of character and business integrity. They used to have some reasonable prices on some stuff but now they have become greedy pricing things at or above internet prices. I used to buy most my beer and some other stuff here. You’ve lost me as a customer. Buy a bottle somewhere else and donate all your saved money to charity. Trust me, that extra money will fund something far more meaningful compared to greedy small business owners. I have no problem paying a reasonable and healthy markup. But seriously, owners, I hope this serves as a point of reflection. - Weller Special Reserve (300% markup) - EH Taylor Small Batch (500% markup) - Eagle Rare (300%+ markup) - Stagg Jr (500% markup) - Blanton’s (500% markup) - Owners integrity (-2000% markdown)"
"This is one of the most homely liquor stores I've ever been to. Owners are nice and very personable. If you are lucky you may even get to pet one of the most beautiful friendly Golden Retrievers too. They even have a very beautifully done goldfish pond and a few birds! It may sound weird but this is a very calming store. Been coming here for 15+ years."
"Three stars. The guys working were very nice. But guys, the prices aren’t good. I understand, it’s a small store and the margins are tight in that business anyway, but don’t fool anyone into thinking the prices are good. For example, a 1.75 of Jim Beam was $35. I buy that for $22 at my local liquor stores back home. Perhaps the taxes in Colorado are extremely different from Kansas, but I found the prices insane. Nice folks working, nice store, nice dog. Prices not so nice."
