"This place sucks! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! The facility isn’t taken care of had to beg them to change the dog poop trash cans for weeks because dog poop was overflowing and covering the ground in massive piles. Only about two or three of the outside lightbulbs actually work and they said they’d fix it and didn’t. They leave things like ladders, sinks, countertops, etc sitting outside for DAYS. They don’t ice the sidewalks or stairs in the back of the complex. The women who helped us sign lied to us multiple times and directly told us break the law resulting in her being FIRED and we were told oh well. The actual construction of the apartments is awful there are gaps in counters and walls, peeling drywall, crooked drawers and cabinets not on tracks, no lighting throughout units like in model, cracked and missing tiles by fireplace, and many many more. On top of that they CONSISTENTLY overcharge us for rent and we have to fight to get it fixed. The people working in the main office are rude and inconsiderate not to mention they genuinely lack basic skills like math and reading and have to be corrected and then act as though you’re in the wrong for pointing out their mistake. Genuinely incompetent people who manage an incompetent maintenance crew as well. You’ll pay a hefty maintenance fee for them to do absolutely nothing. The gutters and grass and sidewalks are littered with leaves and trash."
"I moved here thinking this would be a wonderful apartment with good appliances and amenities. Unfortunately after I moved my family in it became obvious that my appliances did not work. There was no break on rent and no real communication with us about getting these repaired or replaced for months! A new manager took over and stated it was an issue with the old service team and office staff. The staff has been replaced and while they did get my appliances eventually fixed I found out the regional manager was not replaced. He is rude, and very difficult to work with. My family has now been without heat for the second time in a month! I had to call the fire department because the furnace is on a smart thermostat and keeps resetting even though the furnace is broken so the gas is still on and being released! I have to manually reset my thermostat every few hours (even at night) to prevent the gas’s smell in my apartment. I also have been without heat for 5 days now with the excuse that the regional manager needs to approve a replacement. It’s now snowing outside and my family including small children are without heat still other than space heaters and a fireplace that I am afraid to use with the gas still on! I would move out if I could but instead am stuck waiting once again for someone to care about these unacceptable living conditions. And this is without mentioning the pest infestation that continues!"
"Manager has changed so things are getting done. Maintenance crew all new so you just need to contact them. Unfortunately maintenance still has not fixed the furnace, they've been out of heat for 5 days. Apartments are nicely updated, common areas are nice, dog park on site, and pool open year round."
"One star is generous honestly. I wish I could write all the issues I encountered here but life is too short. Before we even moved in we encountered issues, they refused to show us our lease until the day we were supposed to move in, despite us calling and asking to look at it multiple times. The rent ended up being a few hundred more than advertised and we had no choice but to move in because we weren't aware of the price change until we were already supposed to be moving in. The door to the laundry closet was off its hinges when we were touring and they said they would fix it but when we moved in it was fully removed and just propped against the wall. The screen door blew off the frame our first night in the apartment and knocked out the porch light with it. When it was time to renew our lease they did not call or email, they taped a piece of paper to our door with white-out over the date they were SUPPOSED to give it to us. On this paper, they said they were going to reduce our rent on the new lease for loyalty, then actually raised it by a couple of hundred dollars. When we questioned them about it they had an attitude and said the new rent included the pet rent and that's why it was so high, only to then charge pet rent on top of the rent the very next month. We showed them email evidence that they had promised us the pet rent was included and they basically said "Who cares it's not that much money." After we moved out, I just knew they couldn't be trusted to not mess at least something up so I continued to check our account balance for weeks and it remained at zero until eventually it kicked us off the portal. So it was to my surprise when I received a letter not from Deerfield, but from a debt collector on Deerfield's behalf, claiming we still owed $160. In the grand scheme of things $160 isn't much but I KNOW we did not owe anything, so I tried to contact Deerfield about it to ask what the charge was for. It's been months now and they've ignored all my calls and voicemails as well as the email I sent. Management had a bad attitude the whole time we lived there and the staff turnover was insane. Do not move here. Oh, also I've never seen so many bugs in my life as I did when I lived here."
"Extremely disappointed by this property. The ladies in the office are nice and the one and only maintenance man that they recently hired for this huge property does not have the supplies required and lacks the time to handle all of the issues at this property on his own. Outside help needs to be hired and the office refuses to do so. Apparently a finished/newly renovated apartment at this location includes: interior doors not installed, appliances not installed, plumbing not complete, smashed/rotting wood left under the sink, front door locks not working properly, wet paint brushes left on the counter.... it's been 3 weeks and issues still have not been resolved, with no plan/dates in place to rectify the issues. I would look elsewhere until this management team is better organized and supported by their corporate office which is MIA. Edit** I had to install my own trim for the bathroom door, maintenance eventually added a few nails to secure it. I was promised new appliances, however the stove was never installed. Main door still not fixed properly with 1.5-2 inch gaps above and below as well as on the sides. No strike plates were put in (this has been a problem for 7 weeks and is a violation of Colorado's Habitability Law). I eventually purchased and installed 1 strike plate, however the deadbolt barely catches because the door appears to be too small for the frame. New plumbing that was eventually installed in the kitchen began leaking profusely - was reported on the 11/21 without any attempt to fix or followup as of 12/02. Wall wasn't sanded or repainted after practically begging them to fill the holes in the wall in the bathroom. Edit 2** Jeni (the new manager, 10 stars!) and Johnny (new maintenance, 10 stars!) are amazing new staff and are systematically cranking through the onslaught of neglected property issues they were thrown into. I'm hesitant to increase the score much higher for the property itself since it's still owned/managed by JRK, and you only need to see their profile on BBB to get the idea. JRK's lack of response to resident communications and complaints while the previous management did nothing (for at least a couple of years) is astounding. That said, as long as the new staff sticks around, I would recommend this property. Can't thank Jeni and Johnny enough! UPDATE 5/2023: We've had 4-5 new property managers in less than a 7 month span. Nothing is fixed after 1, 2, 3, and even 4 visits by unskilled laborers and you'll only get that with daily pleading and begging. My door was never fixed properly and still doesn't meet the warranty of habitability law, kitchen plumbing was an ongoing issue that forced me to use the bathroom to wash my dishes for weeks at a time over 6 month span, and A/C was reported broken nearly 2 months ago and several visits later, the hvac fan no longer works at all. You will recieve zero help from the regional manager and the tenant relations person in the corporate office. Don't make the same mistake I did. Do NOT rent from ANY property managed by JRK or Two Coast Living! Do your research!"
