Reviews of The Brodie Apartments
"Initially pleasant, but the experience soured over time. We lived here from 2016 - 2021. Issues included widespread trash, dog waste in elevators and on grounds, overflowing trash rooms, and excessive weed odour in hallways. Paid for garage parking and storage, but the garage doors were unreliable. We had our car burglarised in garage. Office claimed the cameras didn't work at the time and was very unhelpful. Upstairs neighbor's disruptive dog and loud stomping prompted police involvement after months of no response, and moving out was allowed due to this ongoing issue. (Upstairs neighbour would jump up and down like a lunatic in retaliation at all hours. I think she may have seriously needed psychiatric assistance) The move-out bill was unexpectedly high. Despite a nice view, the price felt excessive. Unreliable valet trash service and locked trash rooms worsened the situation. Despite DNA testing for dogs, enforcing waste cleanup seemed lacking. Overall, a very stressful stay with excessive noise from above. Be very cautious and document everything if you choose to move in."
"The Brodie was a great place to call home I enjoyed almost two years here unfortunately I got a new roommate and have been having serious issues with them. My roommate has been constantly harassing me and destroying my property. I’ve gone to the police and they have responded countless times to this problem with no resolution. I’ve talked to patty in the office a few times and have let her know about the situation but she’s unwilling to help in any way I asked how much it would cost to break the lease and was told she’d get back with me she did two days after she said she’d have an answer and this is after calling and leaving a message unfortunately you can only leave a voicemail there no option to talk to a representative unless it’s a maintenance emergency this is a life emergency as I’m fearful for my safety and my belongings. My roommate has been constantly posting on the internet slandering me and threatening me but the office staff informed me that the only way out of the lease is to get my roommates to sign off my roommate has a girlfriend that’s not on the lease and lives there as well. I don’t feel safe talking to these people and don’t understand why the office staff is so unwilling to help me with this stressful and unsafe situation. Be aware if you plan on moving here they will nickel and dime you the trash service has continued to get more expensive with less quality of service when I come home at night there is trash lining the halls and the stench is unbelievable there is an onsite trash room but residents are only aloud to use this on Thursdays and sometimes even they it’s locked. People let there pets urinate and defecate directly outside the front building entrance and management will do nothing about this. There are never enough parking spots and they took away guest passes and you now have to pay to park even for a few hours or they will have your guests towed. The locked on building 3 were inoperative for months with no fix and they ran electrical wiring above any through and entry door which is against code. This is supposed to be a luxury apartment the only thing luxurious is the cost to live here. It’s sad that’s it’s come to this as I had relatively good time my first year here. This is a place I recommend you don’t even waste your time looking at yes the view from my porch was amazing but everything else here is very sub par."
"The Brodie is nothing short of a nightmare. I've been a resident here for far too long, and recent events have made me realize just how terrible this place truly is. If you're considering renting here, think twice! Just a few days ago, a shocking incident unfolded that exposed the utter incompetence of this apartment complex's management. A tenant's eviction went horribly wrong, resulting in a violent standoff with the police. It was a horrific situation, but it wasn't the incident itself that disturbed me the most; it was how The Brodie handled it—or rather, how they utterly failed. When the chaos erupted, the leasing management seemed to vanish into thin air. Residents were left completely in the dark, with no information about the ongoing danger. We were forced to evacuate our homes, not knowing if or when we'd be allowed back in. People were stranded outside for hours, some without access to necessities like medication, while the leasing office remained silent. Paying exorbitant rents upwards of $2000 for this kind of neglect and mismanagement is an absolute joke. The Brodie should be ashamed of themselves for their blatant disregard for the safety and well-being of their tenants. The fact that they don't have a clear and effective emergency response plan in place is outrageous. Save yourself the headache and heartache – do not rent at The Brodie. You'd be better off almost anywhere else. This place is not worth your hard-earned money, and the lack of care and responsibility shown by the management is a disgrace."
"My review is a little late but in reflection of my time living at The Brodie, I am passing on my review. I lived at The Brodie during the time world shut down (from COVID). It was a really a great experience. To start, I found the front office team as being a friendly and kind group. They are doggie friendly. Doug, the manager had his gentle fur buddy in the office often. My Great Dane, Murphy was /is always in tow with me. As things slowly started to re-open and I would go the main building the two pups became friendly, even when Murphy would sneak in and drink from her bowl. The office staff (at that time) with masks on asked if they could give him biscuits. All were so kind, and let’s face it, they do not have the easiest jobs. Generally people are not calling the main office because they are in a good mood. There will naturally have some level of business guard up. If the caller is kind, in my experience, it is returned exponential dividends. They came to know me and Murph and always waved and said hello. The maintenance team is such a good group and during my time they are eager to make sure repairs are done quickly, and not just quickly but also that it was done the right way. When the lead maintenance gentleman came to fix my kitchen lights he realized it could have been something more what we thought. Out of caution, he replaced all of the fixtures within an hour. I am sorry to the head of the maintenance team from New Zealand, but I have forgotten your name. As I said. he was always kind and chatted back and forth while he completed his work. Cleanliness. Despite the global shut down, the garages, hallways and community facilities were extremely clean. The main building was kept impeccably clean. The dog wash was a small, if even I didn’t have a Great Dane - it is tiny. It smelled funky and was the only thing I noticed that wasn’t really kept clean. That was a bummer but it could have been because of the level of use? The view, I could not leave a review if I didn’t discuss the view. The Brodie has the most amazing Rocky Mountain view that could be had! I have hundreds of sunset pictures and I would encourage the team there to have some sunset pictures posted in the main building. I have no words to capture how beautiful the sunrise and sunsets are there. Beautiful! Finally a bit a funny…For the time that I lived there I’ll never forget the strange postal worker that had an innate calling to slam all of the postal boxes after delivering the mail. When I say slam, as an example it equated to anyone reading this to slam a door as hard as you can. This was the force he would slam the little aluminum doors. Lol It became almost like a sitcom. I know that apartments in the market today are equivent to a mortgage payment. It’s unfortunate, I found The Brodie to be fairly priced. The gas and electric was also fair. I believe that there is only a single option for cable? I believe it was Cox Cable. That may have changed but for the dollar value, it was fair and the speed was decent. Not as fast as I hoped and I did have some latency issues while working remotely, however it wasn’t cataclysmic. All together it was a good experience and I would recommend living there. I I am also posting some of the sunrise and sunsets taken from my balcony."
