Saia LTL Freight

"Liars. First I am told that they could not make my delivery from poor weather conditions; I am looking at the most gorgeous day we have had in a while. No snow in days. Roads are perfectly clear. Then I am told they didn't bring chains. Why would you not bring chains to the mountains? Isn't it a law? Later, they admitted that they had chains. Then I am told their delievery driver was scared to come up our road. We have regular supply of large semis come up this road all the time in far worse conditions. A) please be honest. B) find delivery drivers willing to man up and put chains on. C) don't be lazy."

"After reporting the package had been delivered to their warehouse, 3 days went by with the delivery to my address being pushed out further and further. A lengthy phone call revealed they could not find it they promised me within 72 hours resolution and would keep in contact. The package was eventually delivered over a week late, with no additional contact or follow up. Their rating should be 0 based on the lack of customer service!"

"Four delivery attempts - 2 weather, 1 no show, and the actually delivery! Not to mention that you have to have someone home for a 6 hour window for the signature. That's worse than the cable guy! Then the package was completely damaged so I refused it. I was issued a return number (RT). I contacted Diamondback Fitness who shipped my package to get a refund issued. They wouldn't refund the money until Saia returned the package. As my frustration is boiling over, it's been over 2 weeks since I was issued an RT number and I sill don't have my $960. Where is the damaged package? Where is my money?"

"I followed this truck through this cone zone yesterday in Castle Rock, CO. I have watched community members over the past month while this road construction has been under way hit cones and be unable to navigate the winding maze of this area in small cars. When I started through behind this truck I thought Oh-man, this is going to be fun to watch. I took this photo after the drive navigated through the 1.4 mile narrow path, with many sharp changes between lanes and he never touched a single cone. I take my had off to this driver. He is a master of his trade. I gave him a thumbs up at the next stop light and he smiled and said "Thank you." Calling the company to compliment him now as well."

"I get the impression that many of the reviewers don't understand how LTL truck service works, so they blame the trucking company. It is important to know that the SHIPPER decides whether THEY will pay for liftgate/driveway/indoor delivery when they cut the bill of lading. It's not the driver's decision. They also decide on regular or guaranteed delivery schedules. For the past several years, I have been shipping pallets with Saia every few days. They are my first choice for the areas of the USA that they serve. Never had a lost or damaged shipment that was packaged properly. The only real delays have been heavy storm related. I have always been treated with courtesy by the drivers and the terminal personnel. Everyone can stub their toe now and then, but when issues arise, they are quick to get it taken care of. I sell large batteries for a living and timely delivery is a critical component to my success. My income is directly related to customer satisfaction, so I wouldn't deal a company who didn't keep its commitments to me."
