"This store has deceptive/unfair pricing and poor customer service. I will not be coming here again. If you are visiting Moab and do not have a value card with City Market, expect your bill to be a lot higher than what you read on the shelf. Low prices are listed throughout the store and highlighted as “on sale” with much smaller printed prices showing a regular price. There is little to no indication that the prominently placed “sale” prices are only available with a value card. On multiple occasions I have selected items based on the sale price or even the regular price just to find myself being charged more at the register than I had read. 3 pounds of beef with a regular shelf price of $10 and I got charged $17. Ice cream advertised on sale as 2 for $6 but I got charged for $6.99 each (more than double the price). When it comes to service, the self checkout system is simply bad. It is very finicky, believes you are stealing half the things you buy, and encourages both accidental shoplifting, double charging and confusion by removing the last couple scanned items from the list when it gets mad at you. You can’t scan and bag at the same time. You can’t put a bag on the conveyor belt. And you get a recording of yourself showing every little thing you do wrong. Maybe shoplifting is a problem in this area but I have never seen so much distrust in a store’s customers. Aside from the self checkout, some employees are very nice, but others are not. We recently had a very rude employee “help” us by coming over without us asking, telling us the price for our scanned items was higher than advertised because we didn’t have a value card, and then immediately demanding every person in our group to show ID’s for a case of beer in the cart that my friend had put in to buy on their own. We got refused any alcohol just because we had a 20 year old standing with us. She said “it’s not going to happen” before walking away with the case. My friend had to get their beer by going to a Gas station nearby, where it was cheaper anyways. Regardless, even if it’s company policy, a polite attitude would have been appreciated."
"Surprised to see it’s part of Kroger, allowing me to use my Kroger fuel points and Kroger coupons! Store is clean and orderly. Prices higher on many items versus my local Kroger (in Georgia), though."
"It is part of the Kroger system. The store provides a wide range of products and offers good deals weekly. Its website is convenient. It also provides delivery, but it could be very slow, due to its partnership with Instacart. There are two staff members that I want to say thank you to. My finger got injured by the frozen shrimp and blood started to drop from the wound. At the self check-out, there are two ladies who saw my situation and immediately gave me a huge bandage for free. My finger was already taken care of when I left. I owe many thanks to their warm help. In addition, their bathroom is quite clean, well maintained, and without any unpleasant odor."
"It’s a traditional American supermarket. It’s got everything you need and even souvenirs for the surrounding area. Groceries looked in good condition. Ice was cheap. Cashier was very friendly. It reminds me a bit of a Walmart grocery store."
"A typical grocery, very similar to Kroger. Actually they are under/ part of Kroger system. So you can use your Kroger card here. The market has everything from fresh produce to dairy, bakery, meat, seafood etc. we visited to grab some stuff during our visit to Moab. We got what exactly we were looking for. Everything was very convenient."
