"My 4 week old baby girl was admitted to Lehi Primary Children's Hospital for RSV Bronchiolitis. She was able to meet two of the three go home criteria within a few days but struggled to wean off oxygen. She ended up staying for a week in total. We decided that the Dr suggestion to do oxygen at home was the right move. We felt confident about this after the Dr's and nurses helped to explain thoroughly how to use the oxygen at home and what signs to look for in case her condition worsened and she needed to be re-admitted. They set everything up so we had a portable oxygen tank to leave and were met shortly after getting home with someone to set up the at home concentrator. They made sure we were aware of everything else we needed to do to help aid in her full recovery, and places we could go for things like nose suctioning if that was needed and other resources. I got a little ahead of myself because I didn't share anything about the actual stay. Despite the circumstances, the stay was very nice:) The hospital itself is huge and beautiful! The colors for the different floors are fun and it all definitely seems kid friendly:) The only down side for me, almost not worth mentioning, was the way to open the door to our room. It was a fun design, but honestly confusing and hard to open. I did enjoy the size of our room and the view was breathtaking:) There was a bathroom, TV, X-box, and cool lights for night time. The whole environment was clean. The houskeeping/cleaning staff did great to make it stay this way. Taking out garbages, wiping surfaces down, mopping etc... Hospital food gets a bad rap, but I always enjoy and appreciate it:) I mostly ordered room service and depending on what I got, I felt the portions could be a bit more for an adult, and you need to make sure to always ask for condiments that you want like salt and pepper packets, another example, don't assume they will give you ketchup because you ordered eggs. The bistro and csfe had good options too:) The best part about our stay was the people:) The nurses, techs, doctors, Charge RN's, RT's, speech specialist, and lactation specialist were who we worked with often. They were all amazing! Friendly and always making sure baby and my husband and I were well taken care of. Of course as my baby was the patient she was monitored 24/7, had vitals checked often, but not so much that it was annoying. Diapers and wipes were able to be refilled, blankets and burp rsgs were also provided for. I felt the balance of care and space was great. Before anyone ever left they would either ask if I needed anything, or tell me if I needed anything to let them know. From snacks, to drinks, to answering questions I felt my needs were also taken care of:) As friendly as they all were they were also professional, meaning they would glove and mask up and wear gowns when needed etc. You could tell not only was comfort important to them, but so was safety. The last thing that really helped us was the milk Bank. We have 6 kids so between my husband and I we tag teamed between our baby here and the others at home. Because of this I would pump to make sure my husband had milk for baby while I switched out and was with the other 6. The nurses/techs were great to take my milk to the milk Bank for storage till we needed it:) The nurses/techs gave me a pump, storage bottles, bottles, milk warmer etc and met all of baby's feeding needs. Formula was also an offered option when I didn't have enough milk. They even let me bring some milk I had stored at home in case I didn't make enough to cover the time I would be gone. Really overall it is a wonderful and warm environment! I gave them 5 stars even though there were little nit picky things I didnt like because they werent big enough to even cause enough worry to take a star away. Nothing is perfect, yet Primary Childrens was pretty dang close:) I also appreciated it being a city away instead of having to travel to SLC everyday. Enjoy the pictures:)"
"I had to take my one year old in to the ER for severe cough and I was really impressed with everyone. The intake staff were helpful wile I was juggling my child and forms. The nurses and doctor were all fantastic and helped us in a really timely manner without making us feel rushed or uncomfortable. Overall I felt like my child was important and cared for with the staff here."
