"Was told did not owe anything, got surprise bill almost two months later. ---- They sent us a bill two months after the appointment after telling us we did not owe anything. We made sure to double-check when there as we normally paid right after the appointment and was reassured we did not owe anything. We had been going there for over a few months doing self-pay and had a good experience until this. The last appointment was a follow up for medication, and we asked the receptionist how much we owed and she told us we did not owe anything. We double checked with her to make sure of this as well as it was not the usual. She reassured us that we did not owe any money. If they had told us a week or two after or less that the receptionist made a mistake when telling us we owed nothing, that would have been understandable. However not being notified until about almost two months after is not. Josh who we spoke with on the phone about this had been understanding with trying to communicate to Dr.Karen about what occurred, however Dr.Karens use of words had sounded very rude, and inconsiderate, Still waiting to hear back from Dr.Karen, but for the time being am very frustrated with this and do not want anyone else to deal with this."

"Karen and her staff are amazing............. I can tell you from experience working in the medical field, it just truly does not get any better than this Dr. and her wonderful support staff anywhere. My sister just recently had a very bad stroke......... Karen is her Dr. I called and left a message with answering service and asked Karen to call me. Without even knowing why I wanted phone call back.. she called me back in a few minutes after leaving the message.......... I had a few questions, but mainly I just wanted to talk to her because I needed her emotional support. She was there and took time to talk with me not to me............. expressed her true concern for my sister. She explained to me to call her anytime if I needed anything, even if it was just to talk................ That is how special and beautiful this Dr. is................ She and her clinic are a blessing beyond words to my family and to all people that are fortunate enough to have her as their provider and their advocate. We thank-you Karen, Serena and all of the staff at Prairie View Family care."

"My family and I have seen Dr. Karen for the past 3 years now. She listens and is respectful of my decisions. She was supportive of me when I told her I follow a low fat, plant-based diet and how I like to make informed decisions about healthcare first before agreeing to her recommendations. She was respectful when I declined vitamin D supplementation and further testing. She is very understanding and sympathetic, and willing to hear me out on any medical issue. In return I take a more proactive role in my own health because I value her time with me. I will continue to see Dr. Karen. Her staff is also kind and respectful, great with kids, and friendly."
