"I have been seeing Ted now for a couple years for help with a really unique problem. I always felt listened-to in our sessions. Ted could always articulate things quite well. I'm an engineer who values intelligent, educated professional help. It took me a few therapists to find Ted, and he delivered beautifully. Ted is an ideal mix of competent, experienced and intellectual in his approach to problems. He is also gentle in his approach to sensitive things. I always felt safe and comfortable in his office. I have recommended him to multiple friends and will continue to do so without hesitation."
"I have known Ted for over 20 years. As a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision, I have had the privilege to refer individuals and couples to Ted as well as discuss many issues of my own with him. Ted offers an empathetic, kind, and supportive ear to those who seek his counsel. Ted provides a sound theoretical practice for those suffering from a variety of traumatic issues and mental health concerns. I have always received very positive feedback from those I referred regarding Ted's support during their sessions with him. I highly recommend Ted Mathis to anyone seeking help for a variety of mental health, relationship, or other concerns. Gregory R. Sandman, PhD"
"As a child and adolescent therapist, I *often* encounter situations where it would be prudent for the parent(s) to also get their own counseling support. People ask me all the time for their own therapist recommendations, after their children are in counseling, and I need to draw from my referral network. I very frequently and quite enthusiastically refer people to Ted Mathis, and always hear positive feedback. I cannot express enough how much of a relief it is to know that my referrals will be taken care of, and that they will be able to continue to engage in the work that their children will benefit from. I have closely worked with Ted for over 7 years, and in that time, I have been on the receiving end of his wisdom, his compassion, and his therapeutic acumen. With complete confidence, I would highly recommend Ted's counseling practice."
"I have been referring clients to Ted Mathis of Resonance Counseling since he first started his private practice. As a pastor, advocate, and spiritual director, I am in relationship with a lot of people across ages and experiences in need of a solid professional counselor. I do not pass out counselor's names lightly. It is extremely important to me that I send them to someone I personally know who will respond quickly to their inquiry and navigate their situation with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and experience. Over the years I have referred many clients across ages, situations, and backgrounds to Ted and have seen the healing and transformation that emerges. The stories are many. I trust Ted's wisdom, experience and practices and call it a privilege that he is part of my professional network of counseling care providers in Denver."
"COUPLES BEWARE!!! My wife and I met with Ted Mathis for 8 sessions over a 1 month period, so close to 2 times a week, and some of those sessions were 2 hour sessions. At our initial visit I had some concerns I stressed to Ted, and wanted to be sure Ted would be a good fit. He insisted that he would be able to help us. Unfortunately over the month period of time and seeing Ted regularly each week, things only got worse with my wife and I. I often left the sessions feeling worse, more confused and not listened to. On more than one occasion Ted brought up politics either before or after a session, when he knows and even instructed us to avoid talking about politics. Ted also, kept talking about the Myers Briggs test and our results, however when I asked him to explain it he seemed to fumble through his explanations and would tell me something different than what I would read in literature. Ted also seemed to get flustered at times which also seemed unprofessional. After calling and speaking to another family counselor who happens to be a PHD level psychologist, I told him our experience with the sessions with Ted and he recommend that we find someone else right away. He referred to some of Teds comments and methods as damaging and incompetent. After all of this I was very displeased and asked Ted to refund our money, so we could use it toward other help, but he has refused to give us any money back. Very upset and frustrated with our experience with Ted. BEWARE!! Just hours after writing this review, Ted actually texted my wife about the review. Ted please stop harassing us."
