"DO NOT GO HERE FOR URGENT CARE. The billing here is complete thievery. Went in for a minor ear infection, was told by really nice and helpful staff that it would be billed as an urgent care visit, then got an email telling the tale of a hospital visit and a $500 bill! No matter how great the staff is, their billing practices for urgent care are downright CRIMINAL. Avoid at all costs. Next Care less than a mile away will charge you a very small fraction of whatever imaginary things they charge you for here."
"Avoid going here if you do not have the best insurance. I read the bad reviews but I had a high fever and came here, I wish I would have driven further. This place is very expensive ($850 for a flu test?), I will not be returning. Only giving it 2 stars because the staff were nice, otherwise it would be a 1 star."
"Beyond disappointed in my 2 visits about 3 years apart. Please read other reviews ... the billing is a joke and the Doctors just don't do a good job. I called to get an itemized bill and I was asked "who is the bill for; yourself or insurance?" I asked why that matters and the billing person responded that "I need to know so I can request the correct documents." How does an itemized bill differ no matter who you are sending it to? The doctor on both occasions did not do their jobs. Both times were after hours and billed as ER visit. To keep this short and sweet, both times the Doctor's did the bare min. and I asked if exams/cultures needed to be done. I was reassured that the doctor was 100% sure without doing the exam. Both times had to do follow up with my GP as soon as I could get in. I was given different medication and diagnoses with both of my follow-ups. I would highly recommend using a different 24-hour emergency facility, or just go to the ER as they bill the same!!!!!"
"I was charged about $374 out of pocket after my insurance paid $495 for two useless and even hurtful therapy sessions with Centura’s in-house therapist (Christelle Cook). What bothers me the most is that I was lied to in order to go to these therapy sessions. My family doctor and the therapist told me these sessions are completely covered through my insurance and will not have any out of pocket fees for me. The selling point was that I need long term therapist and she can do 12 sessions to help me out with no payment from my side. My doctor said other therapists are very expensive and I’ll have to pay out of pocket. What’s the harm in trying a “free” therapy session, right?! Well, after I cancelled the third session, they sent me this bill. On top of that, I had to take medication to deal with the anxiety the therapist created. I’m so happy I shared my main problem in the second session and figured how hurtful this therapy was for me. Plus if I used 12 sessions, they would’ve charged me more than $2000 out of pocket!! On the therapy side, I felt judged and pushed to make a logical tough decision while I was there to receive human kindness and empathy. In addition, whatever I said (suspicions that were hurting me), she would ask for hard evidence and dismiss them immediately if I didn’t have evidence. Are you a therapist or a criminal lawyer in court?!?! There was even more frustrating interactions in that session … moral of the story is that if I am lied to by my healthcare provider, can I trust them with their future recommendations?"
"I went in for a strep culture and spent about 30 minutes waiting for the results. The staff was friendly and caring. Then I got a bill for $125 for a 45 minute doctor visit (insurance paid 0). I paid it. Then I got another bill for $170 ($250 less an $80 insurance adjustment) for the same visit with my previous payment adjusted. Both have hit my insurance, so I need to get it straightened out to avoid the appearance of insurance fraud. My husband went there last summer and never got a bill. Then he got a collection notice last month that his bill hadn't been paid. Our neighbors have claimed the same has happened to them. So first, $250 for urgent care seems very steep to me, especially for something as simple as a strep culture. Second, they have some serious billing issues. I would suggest avoiding this place for urgent care and sticking with clinics at pharmacies and grocery stores."
