"I would give her no stars if I could. She never even addressed the issue I went to docs on call."
"I am an RN of 33 years. I am also a nurse, a holistic nurse and alternative healer and have spent my life listening to people's complaints/needs with compassion and kindness. Today had an initial appointment with this D.O. and would never recommend her nor will I see her again. I wasn't seen until 40 minutes after appointment time, that I could live with, but when she came in, she sat down, face in the computer, no warm greeting, and the first thing she tells me is that she will not order my pain medication and sleeping pill. (Mind you, I take 5-10 of these per year, and this had nothing to do with why I was there.). She looks over all of my medications which I had already sent in plus the medial assistant looked at each one and put it in the computer. Asked me about medical records, I told her my old doctor already faxed them, and she said that's now how it works and would have to request it again. After a huge struggle getting through how I use my medications/hormones, she finally asked why I was there. (At this point it felt like I just was going to be a victim to her agenda to get done what she needs to, no personal touch, no sense of caring at all.) I proceeded to share my health and medication/hormone concerns. I told her multiple times I have a severe corn allergy and 90% of medications have corn as a filler. She did a female exam, told me to stop putting the hormones on where I'm having the issue and to put it elsewhere. I told her when I tried that the side effects were horrid, she continued to tell me to do it that way. She ordered PT for a very minor issue that goes away when the hormone levels are higher, but still told me to stop using as much of the hormones as I was. She said it looks like I have a yeast infection, which I already knew, she was going to order a medication for me, I reminded her I have a corn allergy and can't take them, and all this while she is holding my bottle of Nystatin in her hand, which is exactly for this issue. Talk about not being present. There was no listening, no sense of caring. She seemed rushed and anxious. She did say she wasn't understanding my question, so I repeated, 'When I'm having the symptoms, if I'm not using the cream, what do I do?" Her response, "I'm telling you." (Meaning go to PT, put the cream where it gives me horrid side effects.) SIGH Basically, the typical not listening and just do what I tell you to do mentality that much of western medicine practices. Disgusting. I could not get out of there fast enough. I was 10 minutes late to work, out of $117 and got none of the care that I was needing."
