"We have always been treated nicely by the staff, nurses, and doctors and the hospital is close to where we live. Unfortunately there are major issues with the Cardiology Department- which used to be so GOOD! In December of 2023 they saved my husbands life after having a heart attack in the emergency room For that, I will always be grateful. However- with follow up in the months after surgery (and specifically March of 2024)- the cardiology unit has really fallen apart. The cardiology surgeons are gone (from at least one-- due to making more money at another hospital). I also have found a very poor communication between the various departments. One of the cardiologists suggested we go to a hospital in Denver (which we will be doing)- to help with some of the disturbing new issues he is having with his heart. Our cardiologist ordered an MRI at our recent visit- and then some other doctor (that we had never met) canceled the procedure and we have to see that doctor tomorrow. I feel sorry for the good nurses and doctors that have to deal with the lack of communication- but it is all very distressing for the patient and our family. I am sure it is also distressing for the staff. I hope Banner can revive their cardiac unit (which they have gotten rewards for in the past). But at this point, I can not recommend them to anyone. Banner health is a critically important asset to our community (and the only Greeley hospital that Kaiser pays for). I hope they get things straightened out!"
"This was my 3rd ER visit. I was taken to a room at 12:39. A registration clerk came and verified the information that they already had and at 2:09 I left much to the obvious delight of the bald old nurse who had the audacity to wish me a GREAT day. They were busy, no doubt but they didn't do anything for an hour and a half except send the registration guy in. I thought that when you were experiencing cardiac symptoms that they hooked you up to a monitor but I wasn't. Hey Banner... Is it because I'm on Medicaid that I'm so inconsequential? Rhetorical but I'll bet this review gets me more attention than the chest pain that I'm still having!"
"I normally have experienced satisfactory treatment here, but today I was in an auto accident and was treated like total dirt here. I went in for neck and shoulder pain and was experiencing hypertension. I am a heart patient and they completely ignored the fact that my blood pressure was 160/107. They did an xray on my shoulder and within ten minutes said I was fine and were discharging me. I asked what about my neck and they said I don't qualify for a ct scan . My wife requested it again and was told no very rudely. The nurse said sue us if you want to, we get threatened with law suits all the time. I was hit by a semi truck, and didn't qualify for a ct scan. Great group of professionals there tonight."
"I didn't die, so 2 stars instead of 1. First of all, my surgeon deserves better than 2 stars - he was fine and I feel bad rating 2 over one that deserves 4 but this isn't a review on HIM but the HOSPITAL so here we go, gotta be honest. I'm super grateful for the surgeon getting out what was left of my appendix that was causing appendicitis attacks the last couple years since my last surgery at a different hospital that since let go of all their surgeons but one. He wasted no time from the moment I saw him to the surgery, and I will rate his office better than this. In the surgery recovery, however, was a good nurse and an evil nurse. Like good cop/bad cop for recovery. The male nurse that I never got his name was IN-CRED-IBLE! AMAZING. If he was the only nurse I dealt with, this would be a very different review. But a nurse that claimed her name was Maria was abusive, deceptive with charge nurse and my doctor and hospital manager, and incredibly rude - I'd never ever had a single bad experience with a nurse, in my 48 years of life. This was the first. She wasnt where she was supposed to be, apparently as the male nurse needed to change me while I was in and out of consciousness recovering from surgery, and I know that only by her rush in right before the charge nurse checked in and she YANKED me out of the bed and shoved me into a wheelchair, throwing my boots at the side of my wheelchair stating I just changed myself and doing great and ready to go. I called her out on it because I wasn't that sleepy anymore and knew she was lying. I knew that I was supposed to pee on my own first, hold down fluids, AND do some breathing on the breathing thing they give you... I was told all this in pre-op, as well as before surgery and she was skipping all of that and lying to her boss to get me out. She physically hurt me when she yanked my arm. And by God's own wisdom, somehow I recorded it ALL on my phone. I didn't even remember hitting record... maybe Devine intervention because I (and others including fam attorney) could see and hear EVERYTHING on the video I recorded of her.) From pulling my arm and shoving me into the wheelchair to lying about changing me to CALLING ME A "KAREN" for asking to speak to my surgeon before I left. I knew I wasn't ready to go. By the time the surgeon and hospital management came in, they asked me to stay overnight but I felt so UNSAFE after being physically abused by "Maria" and mocked and called names, that I did not want to stay. I felt unsafe because of HER. And only her, but she really REALLY hurt my abdomen right after a double surgery of fixing a hernia and removing my appendix. I was scared there were other nurses like her I'd have all night that I felt safer wuth my husband who was clueless to all that happened at that point, because he was not allowed to see me after surgery until the doctor came in and he could too. "Maria" continued to lie and I have no idea what she was doing that she felt the need to lie, physically abuse a patient, and then call names for the patient asking for her own doctor, but maybe do a ua on her because none of that was normal. I have lupus sle and am no stranger to nurses as well as my family is filled with medical professionals and I have never had one single issue with a nurse until that day. She should never be allowed around patients. She lied so much, my fear is that she gave me a wrong name to stay out of trouble. But that's for my legal team to investigate and get to the bottom of after I recover. I'm 2 weeks post surgery and in excessive pain and they only medicate you a week so I am also in significant pain but I'm not a stranger to pain either, after lupus sle and dealing with appendicitis attacks for over 2 years. That's a side complaint but not why I'm rating 2 stars. I understand there is a shortage and hospitals are putting up with more shady staff but "Maria" needs to go as I already plan on legal actions against her, and have "open and shut" evidence to show media as soon as my attorney allows that after suit."
"On the morning of December 17th, I got halo-flighted here from Sterling ER for a blood vessel reopening up after getting my tonsils out. The night was super scary for me and I was extremely frustrated with the whole situation, but the team that took care of me that morning was amazing!! They were so unbelievably nice and welcoming! I can’t express enough how much I appreciate everything that they did for me. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable the whole time I was there. Extremely thankful for the staff here!"
