Petco Grooming

"She listened and groomed him exactly like I asked. He looked great."

"It started with staff asking me two different times to change my appt time, which I did. Then a received 2 calls which I assumed was that my dog was ready for pickup but I didn't retrieve the messages. When I got there the stuff member that worked on her said that her tail was matted and that she would either have to shave it all off or leave it. I asked them to simply cut off the 3 matt balls that were not attached closely to her body. She did but said it was too matted for them to deal with or brush the remaining tail hair. I brushed it with ease when I got home. THEN, after I paid and tipped 25%, the guy at the register asked how old she was and I told them 15 . I had been asked this at her last appt and they told me that she was at the cut-off age to bring her there but that they would continue to service her. I was a previous LONG time customer of your competitor petsmart but because your location is around the corner from me, I decided to give you a try. The staff at the grooming place told me that after I paid and tipped nicely, that they had to refer me to a mom and pop competitor because she was old and this particular handler/groomer said my dog was too hard to handle. Im telling you, she had a bad vibe to her. She has been regularly groomed for 15 years and most groomers says she is a joy, but a few along the way had difficulties. Some dogs and humans don't get along im sure. But to tell me she can't come back because of age?! Please. Petsmart doesn't have age cut offs and have generally done a good job. Since we were turned away, I guess we go back to petsmart along with all of our other 100s of dollars a year we spend on all her food and treat needs. VERY disappointing- I should have talked to a manager but i was a little humiliated"

"At first I assumed getting my dog groomed at Petco would be a subpar experience compared to a place that specializes in grooming, but after seeing the positive reviews on here and taking my dog here every 6 weeks since December '21 I am confident I'm getting just as good if not better service here than other groomers. The booking interface is super clean and easy (I hate calling for appointments so this works great). Each booking so far has come with discounts in the Petco app. And both the groomers I've used (Madi and Shea) have been super sweet and professional with our little neurotic and nervous beagle. They made him super comfortable and he comes out looking shiny, handsome, and smelling fresh. We will continue to take him here for sure!"
