"I tried to stay in the hotel and was refused service because I live locally. I tried explaining that our water heater started leaking so we had to shut off the water to the whole house. We were just looking for a place to stay for the night so we would have working toilets and showers prior to going to work/school. Even after explaining why we wanted to stay the front desk refused to rent us a room for the night. It was a Sunday and there were no other vehicles in the parking lot so it was not busy and there was plenty of rooms available. We ended up having to stay 10 miles from home and have to drive back and forth to take care of our pets. We recently moved from Minnesota and would often take our kids to the local hotels just to spend the night and go swimming so it’s not that uncommon for locals to rent rooms."

"We’re always glad to to be here because there’s place to sleep and wonderful breakfast which I always enjoy every morning. This place is like home . Thank very much with everything. We’ve been staying here a lot and going to work from here too. This place is more than 5 stars."

"We booked multiple rooms at the Comfort Inn in Aztec, NM for a family wedding. Every room was spotless and quiet, ticking the most important boxes for any hotel stay in my opinion. Cliff, the owner and manager, was consistently present and pleasant, offering great service to those who showed him the same courtesy. We also spent a couple of hours at the newly renovated fire pit in the hotel courtyard, which was a lovely experience. Breakfast was hot and met expectations; although it could benefit from extending past 9am for those of us who aren't morning people. Initially, I had reservations due to some poor reviews, but my experience suggests that those were likely retaliatory. The only minor drawback was the limited number of convenient outlets, so consider bringing a power strip. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again next time I am in Aztec and highly recommend it."

"The hotel is fine but the desk clerk was very grumpy. Here we go, Check in " Hi there, I am having trouble booking a reservation on the Choice Hotels Website." Desk clerk " I am sick of having Choice Hotels members thinking they are special. They are not special, they get the same rate as everybody. You are no different than anybody else. Everyone gets the same rate." At that point i stopped talking and let him check me in. Quite possibly the clerk on 10/21/2023 at 5PM should find a different position. When I frequent the Aztec Comfort Inn next time, if he is the check in clerk, I will go elsewhere. I expect that he will see this review and delete it."

"My wife and I rolled into Aztec late in the evening on 09/29/23 looking for a room for the night. Upon walking into the beautiful lobby I overheard someone chewing the manager out because her reservation through some "travel" website was for a ground floor room but he did not have any available. She threw one boomer of a fit and stormed out. I was next in line and Cliff, the innkeeper, was super nice and accommodating. He did not have any typical rooms so he gave us a suite at the standard room rate. We had a great nights sleep that night and an excellent hot breakfast in the morning. Cliff is a great innkeeper and when we go back to that beautiful region of NM we will def be staying at his place again."
