"This is the best off campus rental I’ve been in (moved in 10/2022). The price is affordable ($980 for a 1b/1b), it’s a 3 min walk to campus, and the covered parking ($35/month) is actually underground and fully covered. The laundry room is regularly cleaned and I haven’t had any issues with the machines. The front desk staff are super friendly + they hold on to delivery packages for you if you’re out of town. The train is a 10 minute walk away and it takes you to downtown or the airport. Would recommend to a friend."
"Honestly I really didn't like living here. Right off the bat, just some sketchy stuff happened around the complex in my three months of living there. The gate on the parking garage broke, and it took over a month to get it repaired. During that time, my car got broken into on two occasions despite having nothing valuable in it. One of my friends in the building had their clothes stolen from the laundry room. There was lots of trash left around the building and the parking garage. I subletted from a previous tenant who had three months left on a two year lease. A month before move-out, I was given a four page extensive cleaning list, which included steam-cleaning carpets, specific expensive brand name cleaning products I was recommended to purchase, and using a toothbrush to scrub shower grout. I was told I would be charged hundreds of dollars if the apartment wasn't to their standards. When I asked UH if they had a vacuum or steam cleaner I could borrow, they told me I could ask around or rent one from Home Depot. In my three months of living there, I contributed very minimally to the wear and tear on the apartment, yet was expected to spend hours and tons of money cleaning it. I subletted from a previous tenant, and followed all of UH's rules throughout the subletting process. However, I was surprised when I received a message from the previous owner of the apartment stating that she had been charged for an extra month's rent and asking for reimbursement. I discussed the situation with UH as I was not comfortable with "venmoing" for rent money and preferred to keep my finances separate. UH basically said there was very little they could/would do to help and that I needed to sort the situation out by myself. I found this to be pretty unprofessional because I had followed all of their rules and was now in a strange situation with paying rent. I ended up having to e-transfer the original apartment owner money, which was exactly what I wanted to avoid. The pros: maintenance staff was great and quite prompt. Utilities were included in the overall cost. On-site parking. Furnished units. Thick walls (could never hear my neighbors and such). Perhaps this living situation is better for longer-term tenants; issues with sublets are not necessarily the management's responsibility. However, I was personally disappointed in the facilities and responses to the concerns I brought up. After all, I was still paying rent just like everyone else. Overall, I found the management to be pretty unprofessional and apathetic towards tenants. This complex is in a convenient location for the University of Denver, and it seems they know that people will rent from them regardless of how well they run the facility."
"I lived here for 2 years during college and I have to say it was a great first apartment experience especially with Madeline and Jacob- 2 of the head people at Uhouse helping me out with everything and anything I ever needed. Even became friends with the maintenance folks who were always happy to fix things when they would break and loved to conversate and just have a good time. Being very close to DU and at a very affordable rate this is definitely a bang for buck place to live in a positive way as a young adult. I had very little issues with the apartment itself other than normal wear and tear that is expected when being a renter. I recommend this place if you like being able to walk to class, have ample space for all your belongings and feeling like you are at home!"
"I lived at UHouse for 2 years and had a great experience throughout my entire stay. The facility is clean, and the employees are incredibly helpful and polite. During my time, I sublet my room during the summer months after school, and they were so helpful during the process answering any and all questions. Whenever we needed assistance from maintenance they came quick to fix the issue. Additionally, the front desk team has a great system for packages and deliveries. Overall, it is a very communicative team who plans fun community events and a great place to live."
