"I can not say enough good things about this clinic and team. They are knowledgeable, very responsive and above all care for not just the horse but the owner. When I lost my horse to colic both Dr. Gieche and Dr. Cavalcanti text me with their condolences. Their words helped me through a difficult time. They also sent a card in the mail that they both wrote a heartfelt message in. When I decided to adopt another horse I didn't hesitate to make an appointment with Rocky Mountain Equine for a health check. Dr. Gieche's health check visit was very thorough and she took her time with both the horse and myself. At the end she expressed her happiness for us both. I love this clinic!"
"After adopting two mares with unknown histories two years ago from a local rescue I found these girls needing more veterinary care and training than I had anticipated (rescues truly are a selfless endeavor). Dr. Cavalcanti and Dr. Gieche have been integral in helping me get these two back on track and as sound as possible. We have dealt with a colic scare, lameness issues, pasture injuries, mysterious lumps and bumps, a PPID diagnosis, and most recently EOTRH surgery. All this in addition to regular biannual care. Not to mention these girls aren't the easiest patients around...we are working on that. Dr. Cavalcanti and Dr. Gieche have been very responsive, flexible, and patient through it all. They tell you their honest opinion, but aren't pushy and are very cognizant and sensitive to budget constraints. Horses and medical care are expensive, there is no way around it, but they do their best to ensure you understand exactly what you are getting into ahead of time and they are not afraid to tell you upfront what everything will cost. After every service, I have received an itemized invoice detailing exactly where my money went, as well as thorough medical notes for my records. I appreciate this attention to detail. They are willing to collaborate with other veterinarians, emergency clinics, and farriers and don't take offense when you seek second opinions. They discuss options without making you feel like they are the only ones with the "right" answers. They explain everything as they are working in a way that is accessible and easy to understand and I've never felt like they are rushed. They've always taken extra time to ensure every question I have has been answered and I have found their free educational seminars helpful. They now have the option to haul into the clinic for care which is helpful on the budget and also nice when you don't have indoor facilities for care (especially in the winter). I would highly recommend you check out RMEC in your search for equine veterinary care."
"After dropping my wife off at the airport for a business trip, I returned to the ranch to find Koru, our 18-year-old Tennessee Walker down in the field with a case of sand colic. My wife and I are new to Larkspur and so hadn’t yet established a vet and I was in a panic. Dr. Andersen immediately made time to see us and treated Koru. Being new to horses, she walked me through the treatment, answered all my questions and coached me through what to do next and the warning signs to be on the lookout for that night and the subsequent days that followed. Before returning home, she gave me her cell phone number and said to call her if anything happened that night, no matter the time. She then followed up with a call the next morning to check in on Koru. I can’t say enough about the excellent treatment Koru got and I am very thankful we found Dr. Andersen."
"Drs Shiloh and Lindsey are second to none! Extremely responsive and knowledgeable. We like that they are current on treatment protocols. They are both extremely clear in their communication and timely in their responses. We trust them with the care of our 4 horses."
"Dr. Lindsey was wonderful! My horse was quilled by a porcupine and she was able to get all the small barbs out. She handled the horse with great care and was very easy to talk to. She also came out quickly and communicated promptly. I feel very lucky to have Dr. Anderson, Dr. Shiloh and Dr. Lindsey as vets!"
