"Just learning that a bracket to CHSAA means nothing. Why try to be a high seed when you still have to travel 5 hours. What a joke, since when does the higher seed become the visitor, but honestly what would we expect from them??"
"Completely pointless to have C-teams instead of true freshman teams. If a players doesn’t have experience coming into there freshman year, well at least they will be playing with other freshman. JV is suppose to be the next level of play and then Varsity. You down make varsity after your freshman year, that’s what JV is for. Not POINTLESS C-team system. Maybe this is why Colorado is not very competitive in the national level as much as other states."
"Parents.....DO NOT LET CHSAA AND YOUR GOVERNOR CANCEL SPORTS THIS YEAR!!!!!!They are not being truthful and forthcoming with you. They are lying when they say they are committed to all sports this year. Call your state reps and put and end to this tyrannical rule now!!!"
"The venue at the Colorado Springs Auditorium was poor for the 1A and 2A Districts. It is a very nice historic building but there are no elevators. Elderly people and people with disabilities suffer badly from this venue having to walk up several flights of stairs or having to be separated from their family if they have to use a wheel chair. The gym floor is in poor shape because they play roller derby on it. The seats a haven’t been updated and are very uncomfortable. Every team had players slipping on the floor. CHSSA has showed it’s true colors by not having a decent venue for the small towns of Eastern, Western and small Mountain communities. Relatives of these kids have to pay $15 for parking or run out and feed a parking meter. This is venue is unacceptable! These small communities bring a lot of revenue to CHSAA as they bring a large following. Just because we are not from the big does not mean we should be treated like this."
"-1 star is how I rate CHSAA. It is the worst group of people I have ever dealt with. I was hung up on the first time I called. I phoned back no one apologized. I emailed and was never emailed back. The story why I was trying to reach them is this.. I moved 13 months ago into Westminster and was told because my son's new high school doesn't have a lacrosse team, he should play for Dawson. So he began at Dawson during the fall league, my son expressed his interest in playing ball in the spring and his old high and new high both signed off that he could. The Dawson coach said great. My son was thrilled throughout the winter Dawson sent him mail and requested Dawson equipment be purchased and asked if my son would like to go on a trip out of state. We purchased equipment but declined trip. The very first day of spring break practice. My son got a call from the school to say my son could only play JV and next year he could play varsity. The reason stated was that we did not make a bona fide move. But under the bylaws stated we had. I moved for work and a medical condition. Dawson then said it was not in their hands it was only up to CHSAA. I explained my story and they said they would try and speak to the commissioner again. The second day Dawson called back and said my son could not play at all. The reason stated this time was because my son had played lacrosse at another high school even though it was further away now, he had to go back there and finish where he started. I read this in the bylaws no where. I said.. I would try to appeal the decision and Dawson said because they are a private school the outcomes given by CSHAA don't matter and that they have the final say. ( So if Dawson is going to make up its own rules why are they allowed to be a member of this association?) Dawson then told my son they would buy back the equipment he had purchased and when he went to drop it off they made him leave it without paying him and said after they had sold it they would write him a check. They gave him no documentation and didn't say how much they would give him back. All the while I tried phoning and emailing CSHAA to get some answers and have been treated poorly with no response at all. My son just wanted to play ball and did not deserve to be treated so unfairly. Rules and procedures are put into place for check and balances to hold people accountable. What I see is white male privilege. I am filing a complaint as you both have not done the right thing ."
