Reviews of RMSEL
"My two daughters attended RMSEL from kindergarten through 6th & 8th grade, respectively. RMSEL instilled in them a love of learning, reading, and exploring. I loved how the curriculum integrated all disciplines in which art, music, technology & crew trips all supported their exploration of topics. The administration, teachers, students, and parents worked together to build a true community that we sincerely appreciated. My kids gained a solid foundation in their education that will serve them throughout their lives."
"Interesting reading through prior posts - I have a student in the lower school and our whole family has been very happy with the school. Loving teachers, exceptional specials, fantastic school field trips and overnight trips, and an open-door policy for parents to observe and/or volunteer. All this in a place where every child is known - by the Dean, by a reading buddy, by multiple students across all grades, by the parents of his or her classmates, and even by the school secretaries. Our children are learning true character values, which will help them become the kind of young adults who take responsibility for their own experiences - it really IS what you make of it. I’m sorry to read that not all former students (or maybe just one, with multiple google accounts?) have learned that crucial life lesson."
"We won the lottery when my son got into this school in kindergarten. All of our teachers have been wonderful, dedicated caring individuals. My son is now in 6th grade and I am impressed with the way the 6th grade curriculum is designed to teach kids how to take responsibility for their own learning. And of course the expedition trips are fabulous."
"I have been a parent at RMSEL for eleven years now. I think it obvious that if we have been there for so many years, we believe it to be a good school. My youngest got in at kindergarten and that allowed his siblings to get in. RMSEL as been an amazing learning environment for the kids - the expeditionary model works well for their learning styles. The crew trips are wonderful bonding experiences for the crews, and also great learning opportunities. As with all schools, there have been growing pains, but I feel that the school has been growing in a positive, sustainable manner. We have great support for the learning problems my children exhibited from admin and teachers. Very reasonable accommodations were made to help my kids achieve success in their learning. My eldest graduated from the HS after attending both MS and HS, and she was very well prepared for the rigors of college. RMSEL is a school worthy of being considered for your child's education."
"I had two sons that attended RMSEL. They both started in 6th grade and I cannot say enough about the support and education they received. My oldest came with a little "baggage." Teachers and staff helped him and supported him and now he is in a much better place academically, socially and personally. I attribute much of this to the attention and genuine concern he was given. The crew trips are fantastic, and the teachers put their heart and soul into the work and the kids. The administration is supportive and available. My youngest boy didn't need the same attention the older one did, but he thrived at RMSEL as well. If you think this may be the school for you...it probably is..."
