"I liked this school for the most part it was never really the teachers that were the problem staff there is amazing and understanding and tries there best to accommodate everyone! I can’t say the same for one teacher in particular but besides the point my main problem was bullies and just negativity from other student here as they are stuck up and snobby although that is out of the schools control I do wish I could have had someone to talk to about it and have more help that didn’t have to be after school wasting my life away learning stuff that didn’t matter when I could be getting help with understanding things some teachers did a WONDERFUL job with helping where as others completely lacked the ability to do so and would ask for you to come in after school and typically already had students that they told they would work with after school on something completely the opposite of what I’m trying to have help on so it just caused an overwhelmed teacher who was unable to properly help and this honestly discouraged me especially when Covid-19 hit as it was ALL online and I completely failed and gave up as I was struggling with even getting help. After a while I had simply just given up and sadly did not graduate and now have to get a GED this was a school that’s as supposed to be closely focused on your education and like I said most of the time it was difficult to seek individual help. And I wish more than anything to this day that I could have had the opportunity to graduate and feel confident in school. I understand the personal choices but as a teacher part of your job is to help each individual student as they are all different to succeed regardless of your situation."
"As a current senior in high school and someone who has attended since kindergarten, my experience at the Academy has been pretty great. It’s a very close community with caring staff. Many teachers take the time to form great relationships with the students. Is there room for improvement, absolutely, but if you want a tight knit community this is a great choice. There are also plenty of school events and clubs that are offered that can help get a student more involved with their school"
"This is our first year at The Academy and we have been very impressed so far. We had our daughter at a private school the last two years and she is getting a better education from more dedicated teachers at The Academy than she was at the private school. The electives are great and the staff are committed to creating a safe place for learning. Of course, there will be bullies and jerks in every school. But, any issue we've had has been dealt with immediately AND effectively. Committed and caring teachers combined with a dedicated staff make the difference between a good school and a great school."
"I’m a former student at the academy some of the teachers may know me as a troublemaker but some didn’t see me that way, my experience was pretty great compared to what other former students think of this school but I can completely understand where they are coming from and feel their frustration and why they would hate this school. Things may have changed now but I’m not a student anymore so I can’t talk about the current situation I just wanted to reminisce about the past and tell you my experience while I was here. I was there from 6th grade till senior year i had just transferred from the pinnacle and if you thought the academy was bad pinnacle was so much worse anyways i graduated from Hidden Lake HS in 2018 due to not having enough credits to graduate from the academy that’s obviously my fault because I wasn’t the best student, My first couple of months here were weird to say the least I had no friends, nobody I knew, nobody to talk too until 7th-8th grade I met my life long friends and the most amazing women Mrs.Hubbard she was my rock she was always there for me when I needed someone and I’m so grateful for her i wouldn’t be the person I am today without her. I had the most supportive teachers Mr.Martinez, Mr.Campbell, Mrs.Fox, Mr.Rono, Mr.Fitz, Mr.Leith, Mr.Richter, Mrs.Will oh and I can’t forget MR.RAABE! They are just a few of the teachers I can think of, They would never leave me behind and always went out of their way to make me feel like maybe I’m actually kinda smart if I put my mind to it and that drove me to where I am today (they unfortunately are not there anymore besides a few i think) I had a lot of special bonds with those teachers. I was able to make jokes around them and have fun and that’s all I wanted was to make the most out of how boring school was. Yes, there are some situations that happened during those years I was there that I wasn’t happy about and I don’t think anyone in my graduating class was happy about either, Those teachers left to find better opportunities for them and their families. It isn’t the schools fault for letting them go it was their decision to leave but I’m sad other students won’t be able to understand why I loved it here so much, it’s no secret they did fire teachers and replace them pretty frequently during my senior year but that’s none of my business what happens behind closed doors as long as they hire the right person but sometimes that doesn’t always play out how you think it will even if you think you made the right choice, Hiring the right person for the job is a lot harder than it seems. This school hired the people that helped me get to where I am today and without that I think my experience here would’ve gone a lot differently, I wish I could go back rewrite my wrongs but oh well this place always made me feel welcome the teachers, the staff, my classmates and my friend group made me feel comfortable and happy to be myself so thank you to each and everyone of you. Appreciate the ones you have around you and the ones that have helped you get to where you are today, never forget, thank you for reading my experience :)"
"This is just my opinion but this school is corrupt. I have been here for several grades and the only thing that has changed is the mood and teachers. I feel ashamed going to a school where teachers are overloaded with work and don't get to enjoy lunch like us. Instead, the principal likes to care about money instead of out mental health. I wish this school would change and would be a better place. I simply feel dissatisfied with the amount of corruption and abuse going on, especially drug use among some students along with bullying and teachers not giving a heck about it, instead claiming to tell them again but denying the fact they saw anything. I hope that education gets better and the school gets better too"
