"My child had done K12 and another state for many years so I thought this would be the same experience. It has not been. My child has an IEP, and it took seven months of me calling and advocating, and things were still not set in place on the first day of school. I was shuffled from one advisor to a second and had to start all over. I did everything I was told to by the books, but it took several months and many, many phone calls. I’m still not quite sure that it has been honored properly. They do not teach art or music, which is odd to me. I am waiting to see how the rest of this year goes but so far it has been a big disappointment. Communication is either ignored or something is done and you’re left out of the loop. I’ve been patient and kind but I am my child’s advocate and hope to not see an IEP issue to the point that I have, ever again. It’s caused my child distress. This is why we left public school. I’d recommend requesting a teacher that isn’t coming from the public school system and has at least a year with ARVA. We’ve had all of the issues we had at public school years ago. Bringing anything up seems to make it worse for my child or put a negative target on her. We’re going to see how next semester goes and take it from there. Update- it’s a new semester and their attendance policy has been changed. No meeting with me, as an IEP Parent Coach to review how this affects her IEP. If anything it seems to void it. I wish they would stick to one process for one school year. If your kiddo has extra needs like mine, best advice is to call your area’s SPED Teacher and ask questions. It’s a great curriculum and they have a lot of social events. It’s just been beyond disappointing for us this year in their handling of students with different needs."

"Where to begin? Teachers Take off Way to much time, and they penalize you for missing a single day. administrators have attitude talking with parents they act like they own your Child! and dont let them find out who you voted for! then they Target you Relentlessly!"

"We have not been able to attend class for 2 weeks now because of the IT people either don't care or want to help. We have several times tried to contact the school but no one answers the phone. I have also been to the office and no is ever at the office. So if the school wants me to change the review please call and get our child back in class. We don't have social media accounts."

"A friend mentioned K12 to us and how they liked it which sparked our interest to look into it. Our journey started with hearing their experience and here I am sharing ours. My daughters have been with K12 for 3 years starting in elementary school and now in middle school. The first semester was a struggle - many tears (from all of us) as we adjusted to this new way of learning. Over the years the program has gotten more refined and established as they obtain feedback from parents and learn the best way to support the students’ education. In elementary school I was involved heavily in my children’s education and learning since I realized how behind they were in math and reading after leaving public school… Now they’re in middle school and they’re thriving! They know the routine and are more independent. There are more virtual classes and teacher support. Elective classes such as art, photography, and music are available. My 8th grader helped initiate the school’s first newsletter, joined the magazine team, she’s taking 9th grade math (super suprised/excited the school offered this), is in Student Leadership, NJHS, and participates in several other activities. There’s optional monthly meet-ups and field trips for kids who want to socialize in person. The principal is very responsive and emails honor roll awards and words of encouragement that our kids enjoy. The teachers are wonderful and supportive and give recognition for good work. We believe our kids are less distracted/overstimulated and have more energy to want to participate in several activities outside of school after they’re done with their schoolwork. I ask my kids every so often if they want to return to in-person school and the kids tell me they are happy with K12. As a parent, our kids’ happiness is all we can hope for and I’m so thankful they have this school!"

"We have been a school from home family for over 7 years now. We transferred to this school 2 years ago, and couldn't be happier! I currently have an elementary and a high school student. We are absolutely impressed with the overall structure of this program and the amazing opportunities this school provides their families. It's nice that they offer kindergarten through 12th. I appreciate being able to have both my kids in the same program, with the same calendar, etc. We will continue with the program through the 12th grade for both my kiddos. The staff is so kind, caring, and compassionate. The curriculum is rigorous and provides my kiddos the right amount of challenge they need to stay interested in learning. They also have a tiered learning platform so every student receives the perfect amount of help to show growth within the school year. We highly recommend this program!"
