"I was urged by a nurse call in line to take my child in for substantial blood while vomiting. I made the mistake of coming here. 6 hours later I'm still sitting here in the waiting room. I have no idea if my child is okay. I've asked for printouts of her vitals- nothing. I've asked if I am safe to simply take her to PCP in the morning. No response. Yet we still sit. And wait. No one has checked on us outside my complaining first. If my child is bleeding somewhere internally, you'd never think so. These nurses show no concerns."
"I've been twice in the last 30 days with 2 different kids. Standard ER wait times. Let's be real, it's not going to be fast. That being said they are great. Always nice, understanding and caring from when you check in to discharge."
"No stars would be better. If anything this place is the biggest joke ever. I walk in with a child with a high grade fever above 103 and didn’t seem like a concern to them at all. I watched kids run circles, jumping and playing and were treated before my child. They will work the waiting room like a triage area. Your meds dispensed and brought out to you in a waiting room, check in, vitals. Just a circus but treated like an asylum center for sick people. Don’t even think about coming here it’s a literal waste of time and you can tell 99% of these workers don’t take it serious. Clearly it’s another paycheck for them not a field of work where they care anymore. Oh and anyone who speaks Spanish who potentially is bilingual you will be stereotyped they won’t help you they’ll make you wait for someone who speaks spanish even if you speak to them in English but someone else in another language. Disgusting place."
"This isn't an emergency room. This is a joke. Get your place in order! 99% of the people here do not have emergencies. They are using this as primary care/urgent care. THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE. Edit: the lack of care here almost cost my son's life. After 3 hours of waiting, I spoke to the front desk to see if they could tell me where we were. She said there were still 8 patients ahead of us. There was a probably 5 year old girl who came in right after us with blood everywhere from hitting her head. She waited those same 3 hours. Her dad went up to the counter right after me. And I listened. She told him there are 8 patients ahead of him (same thing she told me), but then she told him because of her age her head wound was not a high priority because they can still do stitches within 12 hours after the wound. I was in shock. We left to try to come back in the morning as it was around 10PM and he needed his rest for what he has. Long story short, his condition worsened in the night and we took him to the Broomfield campus which was much better, but they transferred him via ambulance to Anschutz. As others have said, the hospital is great. The ER is beyond awful. As a side note, the ER is filthy; not just because it is busy. Like it hasn't been cleaned in months. I saw a dried puddle of puke or something underneath the receptionists desk which also blew my mind."
"I've been here twice in the past week and they are light years ahead of any other place for children's care. I was honestly a little concerned coming here the first time with only two Google stars but that is 100% inaccurate. The first night we ended up staying for two nights at the hospital after being in the ER and the service and level of care we received was absolutely top notch. This is the right choice. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses and the overall organization for truly creating the best care possible."
