"My daughter is finishing up her first year at RMAE and it has been a great fit for her and for our family. We have been impressed that the teachers have been mindful of the level of challenge she needed to stay engaged and that she is able to attend a higher level math class because the school schedule was designed with this in mind. She loves all of her teachers and is excited most days to go to school. As a parent, I like the charter school model because it has allowed us to be more engaged than we would be able to at a traditional county school, both with volunteering in class and engaging with the board. The level of homework she has had in first grade has been appropriate - enough so that we know what she is learning but not overwhelming by any means. I also like that the school is small so we know most of the staff. They are finishing up a new gym space and I am looking forward to all the ways it will be put to use. I've asked parents of older kids for their feedback and have heard good things about the curriculums used by the school. One example was how the middle schoolers study WW1 in great depth, not just the main points but also learning about the after effects on the various countries in Europe. They also have a grilling elective going into the science of food which seemed pretty popular and, to me, is representative of a school with teachers that go above and beyond to engage students. Most importantly, the focus on writing skills, even in first grade, seems to be top-notch. My first grader has already learned to write well structured informative paragraphs and it sounds like these skills build though the years with kids graduating 8th grade with writing skills that impress in high school."

"Moved here from a top school district in Texas and RMAE has been an excellent fit for my children. RMAE staff are amazing and I'm very impressed with both the social and academic aspect of the school. Both kids are the happiest they have been and have experienced schools in Europe and Texas. I can't speak highly enough about this school. The children feel respected and supported and the transition has been seamless. I feel both children with different skill sets and strengths are reaching their potential at this school.
