"Not very busy for Veterans Day weekend. Many yellow leaves still. Only one loop open. Next to the river. Plenty of space between campsites. Near i70 and train but noise is not a bother inside camper."
"This isn't really a destination campground, but if you are traveling through and need a place to stay for the night, you won't be disappointed here. The facilities are clean, the campsites and day use areas are loaded and well maintained and the views are amazing. If you roll in late at night in the cold rain or snow, you will definitely appreciate the free hot showers! Yes, it is just off the interstate, but the noise is not nearly as bad as some of these reviews might suggest. We didn't even hear it at night."
"Incredibly scenic campground situated feet from the Colorado River in a striking canyon which opens onto the mesas beyond the Western slope. Located a mere 7 minute drive from the quaint town of Palisade with ubiquitous wineries and fruit stands, worth at least day of spontaneous exploration. The rv sites are decently spaced, each site having a handy metal shelter and table. Staff are friendly and helpful, but not given to over patrolling. There is a cell tower right next to the campground, so if you rely on data for any activity while on the road, the signal is remarkably strong. Of course, these virtues are mitigated by the fact that one of the major East-West arteries for the USA (I70) also cuts through the canyon approximately 200 feet from the campground. The bathrooms have a notice that cleaning occurs daily at 12 pm. Though we were not present to verify that this occured, no evidence of said activity was noticeable throughout our stay. Tent camping was very close without an attached parking space. Overall, we recommend this as a great basecamp for exploring the region. Probably better enjoyed in a soundproof rv with your own shower."
"Pretty good location, however there is highway noise if you’re tent camping. Multiple fishing ponds that have been stocked with fish. There’s a good trail along the river, with different areas to access the river."
"It’s pretty but there’s some dead trees they need to cut down. It was a nice place to ride our bike, as the streets in the campground weren’t rocks. The small lakes hadn’t been measured for bacteria so we could not swim which was disappointing. The man we paid for the Daily Parks Pass was real nice. There was also a dirt road to walk or bike ride near the river."
