"Aries has done sew-ins for me and now braids. She has amazing talent. I found her through the booksy app under Aries L. HairDesign. I'm so fortunate to have found Aries. My holiday pics for the deuce deuce will be breathtaking! Dr. J Brown"
"Leah takes care of my locks. I don't have normal locks and others found it hard to get them to start or to maintain them. She has a great technique and my hair feels and looks great her shop is always welcoming with a great treat and a good feeling."
"Where to start.I scheduled an appointment with Leah a couple of months in advance for a sisterlocks installation scheduled to take 12-16 hours over Saturday and Sunday. I had to drive six hours for my appointment originally scheduled for 8a so I drove in Friday. The day before my appointment, Leah changes the appointment to 10am.The morning of, Leah changes the appointment to 12:30p because she said her mom’s flight was delayed. *First red flag* I remind Leah that I have to drive back home on Sunday which means that I was not planning to stay in Colorado Springs late on Sunday evening. She says no problem that we'll finish on time.I get to her salon at 12:30p and would you believe that there was someone else in her chair…*Second red flag* Upon arriving at her salon, I notice that neither Leah or the client sitting in her chair are wearing a mask. When her client finally leaves at 1:30p (yes, one hour beyond the time she told me to be there), she tries to encourage me to take my mask off because she is "clean".I politely decline. During our conversation, she starts telling me that she has 5-6 family members in town from the East Coast and that they there were at a comedy show the night before my appointment. *Third red flag* (Now, anyone that has installed sisterlocks knows that it is a long, tedious process. One that requires all of your energy as a loctician. You need to be well-rested, hydrated and well nourished.)As a result of starting late, she ends up working on my hair until about 1:30 am on Sunday morning. She asks me to come back at 6:30a.While working on my hair, she starts explaining that she’s making the shorter areas on my hair bigger because it’s short. *Fourth red flag* Anyone that has done hair before knows that when hair is shorter, you must make sections smaller, but I figured she’s the expert, so I say okay. She finishes my hair about 1p on Sunday so I leave and start my 6 hour drive back home. By the time I get home, my mom looks at my hair and notices that 3 locks have already come undone just from me sitting in the car and driving myself home. (No, I wasn’t playing in my hair.)Upon further inspection, we notice about 50% of the locks have holes in them. The shorter sides and back are 3 sizes larger than they should be which is why they were starting to come undone. And that she didn’t even complete a full rotation on each of the shorter locks which meant that my hair was going to come completely undone as soon as water touched my head.Oh, and she charged me $525 for this. She also said, my first retightening was NOT included which is Sisterlocks 101. She claimed ignorance to this fact even though she's been a sisterlocks consultant for MANY years.Over the next couple of weeks, my mom spent her vacation time trying to fix my hair so that it could be salvaged. (Bless her) Ultimately, I had to go to another loctician who basically had to fix every single lock.(We’re talking about 500-600 locks)So I basically had to pay the “fixer” loctician a whole another install fee.She said in her 13 years of being a sisterlocks consultant, that my install was the worst she had ever seen.Save yourself the heartache, tears and money.Don’t let Leah install your locks. She didn’t give herself enough time to do a good job, was exhausted before she started my hair and tried to blame the length of my hair for the reason my hair was in the condition it was in. Totally lack of accountability. If she felt like she couldn’t do a good job with the shorter lengths, she should have just done the top which was long and asked me to come back in a few months when she felt she could do a better job.I would have respected that. Now, I’m not sure that would have fixed all the holes in my long locks but atleast I would have saved myself time and money on locks that just had to be redone. After all of this, she didn’t offer any form of refund or compensation. She just wanted me to drive another 6 hours there and back so she could fix it.Also review by Stafford Chavis is her husband."
