"UPDATE TO MY UPDATE!! On March 15, 2024, I received a check in the mail from ULTA Salon, Cosmetics, and Fragrances Inc. for $232.00!! That was the cost of my hair, plus the tip I paid! Thank you so much Ulta for standing by your customer and making right with me! *First of all, I didn’t know Ulta had a hair salon. That should have been my first clue that it wouldn’t be a professional hair salon.* Long story short, it was my birthday December 2, 2023. I am a brunette and wanted highlights and a lightened base color. Instead, I got a full head of brassy hair done by Shannon Taylor. Two weeks later, she redid it 2x and got the same results. The 3x she added low lights to fix her mess and tried to charge me for it. UPDATE: In mid January 2024, I had my hair corrected at Heads Up Salon & Spa in the Southlands Mall. I am posting 2 pictures below. The first picture is what Shannon Taylor did to my hair. And the second picture is the beautiful results I got from having my hair done at Heads Up Salon & Spa by Masoumeh Ghaedi. I highly recommend her!"
"Very disappointed in Ulta! I came here for a lot of makeup, I left and spent $200 at Sephora lol. The girl helping me tried on a bunch of foundation and was getting frustrated I didn’t like them but none of them matched my skin. She was hard pushing Mac on me which was weird and then told me they were out of 1/3 so really didn’t even have many choices. I kept telling her none of the shades she was picking matched and she told me to go look by the window in natural light. Then I walked back and she had taken a new person on. I ended up leaving and going to Sephora. The girl at Sephora was awesome and helped me find a lot great makeup items. I honestly used to think Ulta was more approachable but I will be going to Sephora from now on. Be mindful when your competition is around the corner - y’all are giving Ulta customers to Sephora for free"
"I never ever write reviews, but my experience today left me so dumbfounded I wanted to share to make someone aware of how the employees here are treating customers. I had just gotten to the section I was hoping to find a cleanser in because I love the brand’s moisturizer so much. Unfortunately, it appeared to be out of stock. That was when a worker approached me and asked if I was looking for a specific cleanser, to which I responded yes actually, but it looks like it’s out of stock. She then asked if I would like her to recommend something instead and what price point I was hoping for. When I responded with drug store price points, she said before she recommended anything she wanted to check the back to see if the product I was originally looking for was in stock - she explained they don’t leave it on the shelves because it’s a “trending” product. When she came back with the product, I was excited and appreciative, but she seemed disgusted. She didn’t say anything and handed me one, to which I said it gets really good reviews, in an attempt to defend me (22F) buying this product, and she rolled her eyes and said well yeah, that’s because it’s trending. I then got worried that she may be right, so despite her being a little off I asked for recommendations outside of that product like she had originally offered, to which she said, “I’m a licensed esthetician so I don’t tend to recommend drugstore products”, then walked away. I stood there baffled as I have never had an experience quite like this one. Ulta, please educate your “licensed esthetician” employees on drugstore skincare so they can help the other 50% of customers. I put the cleanser back and left."
"The staff went out of their way to accommodate me. It was so nice to have had such a great customer experience. I highly recommend this store!"
"I had a really great shopping experience at this Ulta! I'm sorry I don't remember everyone's names but a lady with purple(?) hair and a nose ring helped me find a Benefit Brow pencil that I liked, a lady with blue hair helped me find the Nyx Lip Oil in the shade I wanted, and Lupita at the register helped me with my coupon. This shopping trip put my faith back in in-person shopping due to the kindness and helpfulness of the employees!"
