Aspen American Bar & Grill 2540 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80906

"When I first moved to Colorado Springs, this location was known as Flatirons and truly had more of a sports bar vibe, and while Aspen American Bar & Grill still gives off this vibe slightly, stepping in you do feel that they are going for more of a romantic atmosphere. However, it tends to be quite dark for the average diner, especially if you have kids. They may have changed the policy since we dined, but then a side salad upcharge meant you paid the full price of the salad....which you would never except upon the term upcharge when asking for it to be one of your sides. The charge was removed from our bill, but the waitress seemed appalled that we would even question such when our bill came out.....it simply comes down to, being honest about the charges. While the food had a good flavor, it was not over the top and a few plate presentations were sloppy. Our waitress was extremely casual and really didn't seem to enjoy her job. Walking into the bathrooms, was a time warp, to a point. You could tell a few changes had been made, but holes and tape reside was left from when it was Flatirons, again, maybe this has improved since our visit. Base on our experience, we decided not to return, in part that we want to try other places and spending our money again on a place we were on the fence about doesn't allow for new experiences."

"It was a good visit. Service was great. Food was very good. Great bar style food which is what they advertise. The kids menu and the regular menu was a fair price. The kids pizza was good. We will go back I am sure. We had Chicken Marsala, Bonsai Burger, Salad and Cheese Kids pizza. They split the salad and Marsala as my wife and I were sharing."

"This was a nice-venue with excellent food and attentive servers. This was a large Buffet,style meal so have as much or little as desired. This was a Holiday meal so a bit pricey but well done. Years ago this was a steakhouse."

"This was our first time at this restaurant, and we really enjoyed it. We had gotten a discounted gift card at Costco, and we’re glad we did! The stuffed mushroom appetizer was especially amazing."

"Really lovely experience at this restaurant! All of the food was amazing. I had the coconut shrimp salad (it’s a seasonal dish so go soon!) and it was so tasty!! Gorgious too. My husband had a burger and I would say it was good by the speed he took it down. We had calamari to start and it was tender and the breading was crisp. Yum. We had the sangria which was great! We also had a flight of margaritas. When I tell you these were the best margaritas I have ever had, I really mean it!! So good! Every single one had a different flavor profile. We could barely choose a favorite. None of them were too sweet. Our server was super nice and attentive. We will absolutely be back. I suggest going when you can try cocktails with your meal ☺️"
