"A Boulder tradition; enjoy it while you can. I enjoyed a basket of excellent whole wings with a side of unusually good curly fries, neither greasy nor salty. Great bar service with a good selection of beers on tap. A nice smattering of pool tables and other coin-op games. Best of all is the decor, with old, strange dark wood and metal ornamentation everywhere, including the ceiling. Highly recommended."

"Great bar, excellent wings. Wings served crispy and whole. Perfectly sized, crispy and saucy. The whole wing is a lost art, preserved her at the Dark Horse. Ranch and bleu homemade and delicious. Just an excellent classic chicken wing experience in a fun eclectic atmosphere. Lunch time was table service and our server was kind and accommodating to our kiddos. Didn’t seem to mind them taking over the games and pool tables."

"Great memories. Strong drinks and consistent food. I always get the Jiffy burger. I just love the texture and the salty flavor change. The dark horse deserves its ranking as a boulder icon. There’s always a bunch of games on and even some fun video games to play."

"Very unique bar, with most bar games. Decor is made up of old movie props. Sat at the bar and ate. The bartender was very friendly, and the drinks were good. Food is self-service and good. Don't be fooled by the bathroom doors!"

"Awesome atmosphere. This is a wood and decor heavy dark bar. You will immediately feel cozy - like you are settled in for a brew on a winter night. One side of the bar was a bit more open and louder (which I don’t prefer) the other side was cozier and had a massive fireplace and bar. Nice beer menu with local brews. I got the blues burger, which was delicious. You order drinks at the bar and food at another station. No wait staff which I am good with."
