"I used Insurance Town & Country for about a year. In October, my car insurance policy renewed but this time it was 19% more expensive than it was for the previous 6 months. This was surprising to me considering that I paid my car off in full prior to my car insurance renewing and I also turned 30. I reached out to Insurance Town & Country three times via email in attempt to get them to revisit my current policy before it renewed, but I never got a response. I then had to call twice before getting ahold of someone (Nicole I believe), who put me on hold to review my policy, only to inform me that my new monthly payment of $171 was the absolute best I was going to be able to get and a 19% increase was common, even for drivers with clean records and fully paid off vehicles. Well, fast forward two months and I see on credit karma that I could get car insurance for my vehicle through Progressive for as low as $40 a month. I decided fill in my information to get a quote and to my surprise, not only was Progressive's insurance substantially cheaper ($76 a month, $95 cheaper per month than what I was paying), but my coverage with Progressive is actually better than what I was receiving through Nationwide (the provider Insurance Town & Country had me set up with). For instance, my liability coverage with Nationwide was $100K and now it is $300K with Progressive. My excitement to save so much quickly turned into frustration when I realized I was paying $1,140 more per year for inferior protection and that I had been convinced through a false sense of trust that Town & Country was providing me with the best rate available. With this said, I wouldn't bother using this company. You will struggle to get in touch with them, only to get quoted a rate that you could beat if you took the time to fill out car insurance applications yourself."
"To start, I had been a customer of insurance town and country for longer than I can remember. Things went downhill quicker than I could have ever imagined possible. I had some evolving insurance needs and questions about coverage for a recent purchase on a homeowners policy. It's more than fair to say my knowledge of the insurance industry left a lot to be desired. Regarding this specific purchase I was seeking coverage on, I asked, "Is it not possible to just have unconditional coverage? If I’m paying for insurance coverage I want to be covered without bureaucracy. Is there any kind of risk management I can implement to allow for that?" Jeremy, one of *the owners* replied, stating: " Is it not possible to just have unconditional coverage? What a wonderful world that would be…. Sure, I (Jeremy) will cover you unconditionally, the annual premium for you is going to start at $5 million, paid in full upfront (nonrefundable) and will be adjusted accordingly from year to year. " He then added in conclusion, "I really hope you are catching the intended sarcasm……" This was a big purchase for me, and I was just trying to understand and navigate coverage. While Jeremy perhaps thought he was injecting humor into his message, I found this response quite off-putting. You are providing a service, and while from this agency's perspective, I apparently asked a wild question that I didn't know better about, that was the response I received. While it's true I had been a customer for a long time, I extremely infrequently ever reached out, and I had no report with Jeremy to enable him to make a response like that to me. It doesn't matter what I ask, you should provide professional responses with tact to help educate me and understand. In my reply, I asked for that professionalism. Specifically, I said: "Sorry, I’m not intimately familiar with the insurance industry and frankly have yet to have a good experience in any vertical, which is why I asked for that. I would appreciate a little more professionalism." Jeremy replied with the below literal quote: " I am honestly astounded at your response. That said, for you to assert that I am being unprofessional by explaining how insurance coverage works, is silly. My attempt, to add some levity 2 that explanation was clearly lost on you, hence I am not interested in your business. " There was more, but I will leave it at that. According to Google, levity is defined as "humor or frivolity, especially the treatment of a serious matter with humor or in a manner lacking due respect," which in essence is Jeremy acknowledging his own message to me as disrespectful and unprofessional. I felt the totality of this interaction to be wildly inappropriate and canceled my coverage with them the same day. Fortunately, another agency, that I also signed up with the same day, was not only professional and personable but provided me with exactly the unconditional coverage I asked about above at a great rate to boot. And that's just the start. The other agency provided significantly more coverage for ALL my assets for the same price. Yes, Jeremy, that's what I was alluding to in my final message to you. I write reviews few and far between. While I did mention I contact them rarely, previous engagements were just as fruitless (Remember in the past when I called to get better value on my premiums and you told me there was nothing you could do? I contacted Progressive directly at that time to advocate for myself successfully, resulting in lower premiums), and at this point, I felt exceptionally compelled to write this and strongly advise everyone NOT to do business with this agency."
"I've used Joan and Jeremy at Insurance Town & Country for 7 different insurance policies now. Frankly, I couldn't have done it without them. My previous policies did not give me the proper coverage I needed and Joan was kind to take time to go through my old policies with me and then offer new policies that suited my specific needs. I am so grateful to have found them. And I recommend them to anyone and everyone that is looking to improve or change their insurance policies. Thank you Insurance Town & Country!"
