"We heard from some friends who are locals that it is the best Mexican food in town. We can confirm that it is DELICIOUS! We started with chips, salsa, and jalapeño poppers. Executed to perfection. One of us had a steak, the other had the red chile Mac n’cheese, and the other had the combo plate. Non of us were disappointed. The service was efficient, friendly, and helpful. Do yourself a favor. Eat here."

"The beans, salsa, and sauces were delicious. This salsa closely replicates my mother's. I wanted more beans. Yet, I have to say that I left disappointed. Who's doing the cooking here? The rice was mush. It is also inexcusable to burn the chile relleno batter. Plus, the batter was way too thick! The chile should be the star of the show; but, instead the customer is left with a bitter, charred taste. New Mexico is supposed to be the king of chiles. Unfortunately, The Chile Pod falls short. "We had to get our food to go since we have a crazy toddler but seriously this place blew me and my husband away! Everything was incredible. The flavors of the green Chile wow! Insane! I got a sopapilla on the side with my Frito pie and it was divine. Obsessed with the jalapeño poppers! Definitely get those! My husband loved his queso chicken. Flavor explosion! And the churro doughnut really took the cake and sealed the deal. I would come back to New Mexico just for the food alone. Thank you so much! Hope to be back! We are passing through on our way home to Utah after going to the Hot Air Balloon Festival today. You made our trip so memorable!"
