La Catrina Mexican Restaurant 4800 Baseline Road, Boulder, CO 80303

"Probably the most mediocre Mexican restaurant experience I've ever had. Maybe we were there on a bad night, but the service was slow (took around 50 minutes to get our food with only 4 other tables in there). Salsa with the chips was watery and tasted more like tomato sauce. They initially forgot the guacamole and sour cream on my nachos. When food finally arrived with all the ingredients, it was simply inoffensive and a bit on the bland side. Nothing was particularly bad and no one was rude, but I wouldn't pay to come here again. A poor replacement for Coma."

"I was excited to see a new Mexican place at this location. Service at lunch on a Sunday was quick and friendly. Place looks and smells clean though pretty spartan in its decoration. This is pretty plain, probably not a date spot. The tacos at $2.50 each are a good deal. I tried carnitas, carne asada, and al pastor. The tacos looked good and were just okay. The carnitas and carne asada did not seem just-made, they were kind of dry and overcooked or re-heated. The pastor taco was better."

"This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in town. This is coming from someone who's family owned mexican restaurants in California. Not only is the food excellent, but the staff is super friendly and the restaurant is very clean."

"We liked Coma (last restaurant in this space) a lot. La Catrina, however is many steps up. The street tacos (which we have now had twice) are full of meat, the sauces are flavorful, spicy, and authentic, and the chili relleno is delicious. We will be trying more items from this menu and visiting often. Very happy to have La Catrina in our neighborhood."
