"After a lifetime in the Seattle area, I moved to NV four years ago. I actually like it a lot but I miss the Seattle seafood options. Not only was this as good as the stuff I loved up there, it was better than most of it. I had fish, clams, shrimp, scallops, and a tanker full of clam chowder that I carried around all afternoon and referred to as a #SeattleBigGulp as I sipped from it, which entertained the family I was staying with. It was all fresh, perfectly breaded, seasoned and cooked and I've been craving more since. I even tried to go back for another Seattle BigGulp on Sunday before I flew home but they were closed so I had to drown my sorrows in some pizza and wings instead. I got to chat with Chef Bob and hear about what lead him to Colorado Springs after growing up in the NE and spending some time in Seattle as Red Robin's corporate chef around the time they first started franchising. I ill absolutely be back every time I visit my family in Colorado Springs, which hopefully will be often. My only gripe, and it's a mild one, is I prefer a more simple tarter sauce. Tarter Sauce is the dip of choice for Seattle natives and we put it on everything, including burgers. It is to WA what fry sauce is to UT. This tasted like it was mayo based with dill. i definitely prefer mayo to sour cream based but I like pickle chunks rather than dill and a touch of sweetness. I make my own these days and I can just bring along a little of that if I need to. That's just my subjective taste though and this really was outstanding."
"Love Chef Bobs!! As a girl who grew up going to Maine every summer for lobster off the dock, and eating it at wooden picnic tables over newspaper (like it should be!) Chef's bobs has the ticket to my childhood nostalgia! And in COLORADO no less. The seafood is fresh (delicious!), the service always kind, the decor fun and authentic feeling, and prices totally reasonable!! Its a must go!"
"Must visit!!! Service is amazing! Staff was hopping when I got there at 4pm on a Saturday & they were very on top of everything! All food was fresh and perfectly prepared.. I ordered the whole lobster dinner w/Mac & onion rings, add on whole belly clams. Everything was perfectly crispy & steamed! Look up! There are Seagulls in the rafters (decoys, of course)! The have a separate bar area where you can sit, eat drink, and be merry. It’s a very personal atmosphere, clean & easy. Drinks are EXTREMELY affordable with free mixers to anything… I bought the full lobster dinner, but we’ll worth the price at roughly $50 for full steamed lobster and 2 sides. We’ll worth it!"
"Growing up on the East Coast near Jersey, seafood was fresh and gritty. That’s how you know it’s real seafood, the fresh caught lobsters or crabs had a good sea/sand taste to them. The Lobstah Trap did not disappoint, it should be the number one seafood restaurant in Colorado Springs not Bonefish Grill who have no idea what seafood really is. Feelings aside, give it a try it’s amazing! The lobster Rolls and Mac n cheese are to good to pass up!"
"This place has excellent food and I love the setup inside the restaurant! I had the lobster roll (cold) and upgraded to onion rings to go. The sandwich was amazing with a lot of flavor and I loved the lobster. There was a TON of meat on it as well. The cold roll had a sauce on it, which was very tasty. It looked like the warm one didn't have that, bit was served with butter-a more classic version of the lobster roll. The onion rings were excellent as well! They were cooked the perfect amount at crispiness. The person taking the order was very friendly and helpful. I had never been there before and he helped me navigate the menu. I definitely plan on eating here again!"
