"I opened an account online which seemed like it would be completely possible to do online. Turns out that they offer online account creation but won't give you access to the account unless you go in person to verify all information. Loose translation, sign up online, send us money to open account and we will let you have it after you come in-person to open an account. So far I wish I would have just opened an account with a national bank instead of a local credit union with excessively corporate policies. That being said, the people are really nice. But no matter how nice the people are, they are restricted by the bank policies."
