"i was here for 4 months during 2021. i can wholeheartedly say it was the most positive treatment experience ive had. staff and admin communicated positively and were open and honest. i went in a closed off, combative, disrespectful young teen and came out with dozens of new resources and a healthier mindset. the individual therapists will push you to get more intense in your treatment, which can be really uncomfortable and hard at first, but in the end it’s worth it. my therapist (Mr Chase and then Miss Summer) helped me finally share my childhood trauma experiences and work through them. Immanuel takes your concerns seriously, it doesn’t matter if you’re a child or an adult. they will work with you and do their best to make sure you feel safe. I was also able to complete schoolwork which helped me graduate highschool early! i also have been to boystown’s PRTF and would recommended Immanuel over it a thousand times over. the staff here were nicer and more helpful than boystown by a long shot. thank you to all of the staff who helped me become the confident, kind, goal-driven young person i am today! ❤️"
"We currently have our daughter here. We were lied to about how the program was setup the handbook we were give was pre covid is what we were told they no longer transition kids home its they are there untill there out type of program. There communication is horrible they dont have a therapist for the kids to talk to there at night or on weekends. Emails and phone calls dont get returned for days. Meantime I was told by the director Denise whom is especially rude if I dont like it just check my child out against medical advice. Two other staff members have been loud and argumentative with me. I requested my daughters individual treatment plan a month ago havent got it. Ive never been so talked down to in my life. Im starting to think my daughters going to come out more traumatized and with more bad habits then she went in especially if this is how i am treated I wonder how there treating her. There staff always has 3 different stories everytime my daughters been in trouble always seems to be on nights a cerian staff member works. I would NOT send my kids here if i had known all this.I would look elsewhere seriously its been a nightmare for our family."
"I was transferred here from a another hospital on February 24 2022 and I had the best experience I have had. When I first came I was really scared but I two incredible nurses Ms Karlie and Ms Megan they made me feel like I was actually wanted and want to thank them for everything they have done for me to make me get better. Something that I loved from my experience here is my nurse Ms Megan would come in my room for the 15 minute checks when she knew I wasn’t doing good she would come in my room and go what up girl. I really miss that. Thanks again to all the nurses that helped me get better."
"Back in February of 2015 I was here and during my time I was not healthy mentally... seeing things & hearing voices. During my stay there I got to know a few people and built some sort of friendship but they were patients and I was too. It was scary sometimes because some kids would get mad and have an outrage but other than that it was ok. Now 2 months later I was sent back to Immanuel but the smaller treatment center & the people I knew from the big hospital were transferred to the treatment center like I was. I was there for 6 months then got discharged. During my stay the staff taught us life lessons so that we know not to go back to what lead us there in the first place. So to sum up the story... MAKE GOOD CHOICES!!! PLEASE! DO NOT END UP SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE! MAKE THE BEST OUT OF YOUR LIFE THAT IS POSITIVE! Thanks, God bless"
"Our mildly autistic son was having erratic behaviors, delusional thought processes, poor hygiene, suicidal and homicidal ideations, and symptoms of depression and anxiety. He had threatened to "slice our throats open while we slept, let us bleed out....onto the bed.....onto the floor, eviscerate my wife, light our house on fire, and jump out of a window 25 feet off the ground onto a pillow to escape. After being mistreated, misdiagnosed, and sent away from "the only 24/7 emergency mental health facility in Lincoln, NE" we brought our son to CHI Immanuel PRTF in Omaha. The staff at the PRTF were outstanding. We actually felt like they cared enough to LISTEN to what we were saying, and use that information to develop a treatment program that worked for my son, despite the complexity of multiple diagnoses. It is a locked-down facility that is free-standing and independent from the hospital itself, with a regimented schedule that includes medication therapy, school time, personal and group therapy sessions, family therapy, gym and rec therapy, time for socialization, hygiene, meal time, daily phone calls, personal time, and more. The kids are scored on how well they achieve, behave, and respond in all of the above activities on daily score cards. The program stresses target skills that include following directions, accepting decisions of authority, and expressing feelings. Based on how well the kids score each day, they earn certain privileges and status. Thanks to the hard work of a whole lot of professionals, our son was stabilized and able to come home where he has been doing great. Our son would like to give his thanks to Mr. Chase, Mr. Zach, Miss Jenna, Mr. Tim, Miss Carryn, and Mr. Sean for their kindness and patience during his long stay. He says you are all awesome, and he misses you very much! We can't say enough good words to express our gratitude to our son's therapist (Mr. Chase) for all of the hard work it took to get our son where he needed to be. He was very responsive to our needs as parents, and really seemed to value our input in our son's care. We would also like to thank Mr. D for all of the assistance he gave our son with his school work, and the unit manager, and Ms. Kristy for her assistance in helping us get in touch with our son's doctor. Our only input for improvements to this program is that more physicians needs to be hired to help Dr. Bharwani so that patients and parents can have better access to their doctor. Also, I felt that a written care plan with specific set goals for each patient (S.M.A.R.T) could be of benefit to the program, so it feels a bit less like fishing and more like we are working toward something. My final comment for improvement is that the billing for this long stay is all messed up, because an incorrect diagnosis and inaccurate information was submitted to United Healthcare for April, May, June, and possibly even after. The insurance company has been waiting for Dr. Bharwani to fill out the requested paperwork and return it to them for months. (UHC needs an updated list of diagnosis, a statement that our son was still having aggressive episodes and medication adjustments as late as the Sunday before July 4th, 2018, and a copy of his "care plan" with set goals and periodic reviews of progress toward these goals). For all parents with children in severe mental crisis, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHI Immanuel PRTF. Even driving from Lincoln, it is definitely worth the commute!"
