"This organization helped me aquire a safe stable enviroment to live.The staff was incredibly kind and generous.with time and resources.I was homeless for quite sometime and with out proper Healthcare and help.They exceeded my expectations and went.above.and beyond. I have nothing but gratitude for there services and support."

"Now that I am safe I will share my experience with this company. I was given this number to call for women fleeing traffickers. I called from my car after sleeping in it for 3 days I was told they could not help me because i am disabled and i have a service dog. I spent the next 4 hours trying to find a way to prove my disability (which is illegal), and find my dogs papers. I was told they follow fair housing laws. For women leaving abusive situations?? I fled my home with nothing like many women do. They finally said that they could put me in hotel for the night and i could come the next day if I had my paperwork after my doctors office and vet opened. I put my safety at risk to go and get this paperwork the next day I called them by 10am and was told they could no longer help me. We are full sorry. And that was that. Nobody ever reach back out. Luckily for me I am a social worker and I was able to find other resources on my own. I wouldn’t recommend anyone who is in serious danger to reach out to heartland."

"Heartland Family Service’s pattern of silencing dissent should give their well-meaning donors pause. In addition to disabling Facebook reviews after their CEO was called out for unethical behavior, HFS removed “Peer Center - Heartland Family Service” from Google Maps to hide reviews from clients who had expressed concerns about safety issues at this facility. This is not the first time HFS has disabled FB reviews in the face of criticism, but removing a business listing from Google Maps takes their lack of transparency to a whole new level. It’s almost like they don’t want people to know there might be safety issues at a facility being run by a man the CEO acknowledged was abusive but continued to employ. How can clients expect HFS employees to embody the values of trauma informed care if the leadership team is not held to the same standards of behavior? The short answer: They can’t."

"I needed heartland for a period of time and was recommended by my private doctor. They were timely, consistent- and notified me of any changes. I have nothing bad to say! They are definitely doing a service to our community by providing these services- Megan Wolff is a great therapist! She loves her patients and does what’s best for them, thank you heartland and Megan! ❤️"

"If I could give fewer stars and still leave a review, I would. They like to tell people that they don't think any therapy is necessary and then a week or so later they change their minds. They supposedly have a housing assistance program but that is just giving you a list of people who have rental properties. You're better off driving around or going online and looking for yourself. If you have to have an evaluation done or need some other kind of help I strongly recommend going ANYWHERE else."
