"After having the same gynecologist since 18yrs of age, delivering both of my children, and knowing my womans health history inside and out was a very difficult situation to cope with when my old OB/GYN retired when I was just 42. Trying to find a new gynecologist that best suits your women's health needs that you're accustomed to was very difficult UNTIL I finally found Dr Alons and her wonderful staff at OB/GYN Specialists of Cedar Rapids. I have to drive an hour and a half to see her, but they are well worth my trips to her office. Had I known about them and met her sooner, she would of saved me years of mental and physical anguish due to starting hormonal changes at a younger age, genetics and other family health history concerns that others had turned a blind eye to. "I've been thinking about getting sterilized since 2012. By the end of 2016, I was no longer thinking about it; I knew that's what I wanted to do. For seven years, I watched my mother's health decline rapidly from familial amyloidosis, resulting in her death.
