"They are dying. That much is true. But the young man was helpful, I'll give him that. He knew more about laptops than i did, made the experience quick and easy. It is unfortunate because they are really the last brick and mortar chain store that you can buy Electronics at, I just don't count places like Walmart or Target because all they have really are the low to middle end Cheapo stuff that just isn't that great. At least Best Buy still has some good items. If I had to guess I would say within the next 3 to 5 years Best Buy will collapse"
"We came in here to buy a laptop for my daughter. We spent over $1600, and the sales associate acted like we were a bother for him to have to help us find what we were looking for."
"My wife and I walked into this Best Buy with the intended purpose of purchasing a laptop. We have a few questions about a couple of laptops and we were hoping to get them answered. We could not have been more wrong, the computer department associates were too busy talking to each other to be bothered with helping an actual customer with money to spend. We were the only people in that whole department and the two employees just kept talking to each other. I could have started a fire in their department and they would not noticed. I then approached the manager of the store or the manager on duty and shared my experience. He listened and politely stated that it was unacceptable behavior and then went back to the conversation he was having with another employee. I have zero confidence that anything was said or done to the employees to improve the customer experience. If your desire is to be ignored, then this is the place to shop."
"The only complaint I might have here is that they seem to be down-staffed at times, so need to wait for an available clerk. But that's the same with many businesses these days. Have had knowledgeable people help me here. Also Clerks who try to up-sell software products like windows 11, 365... that has a yearly membership. It's a bit heavy in complexity to use, with a barrage of ads that keep popping-up. Might be more appropriate for an experienced windows user. I really needed something more simplistic i could apply immediately, as i was in the middle of an important project at hand with a deadline. I find ads extremely annoying and distracting. Disappointed that windows went down that path. Not Best Buys fault, but hoping they consider not pushing it so aggressively, or realize the limited experience of some users. Later, I returned to get somebody to help me block those ads from windows 365! I don't like the idea of my documents getting locked into a cloud I will need to pay quite a bit for in another year! Too much work, time ahead to transfer it elsewhere, for me personally with limited time to assimilate. The staff is always friendly here. Big store."
"Once the sale is made, customer service shuts down & they totally ignore you -- even My Best Buy Total members like me. I bought a washing machine from Best Buy and I was given a delivery arrival time window of 7:00-11:00am for delivery, so I blocked out that morning. The service technician had not arrived by 11:00 am, so I called Best Buy to ask about it. I was told the technician would be calling me "soon", but he didn't call until 12:40 pm & said he would arrive at 1:30 pm -- 2.5 hours after the end of the window time. (He informed me that Best Buy arrival time windows don't mean anything.) As a result of the late arrival, I lost about $200 from work because I had to stick around waiting for him. I contacted customer service to ask for compensation & was offered a $25 gift card. Apparently Best Buy thinks my time is worth $10 per hour, which is less than realistic & I'm sure is far less than they pay their staff and service technicians. I told the agent that $25 was inadequate & she said my case would be escalated to a supervisor. Since then I've spent hours on the phone and in chats with Best Buy trying to resolve this. I was told each time that they would escalate my case to a supervisor, but it's now been over 2 months & I've still not been allowed to speak with a supervisor. I think they've made it clear that they have my money & they'll be doing nothing more about this."
